I've forayed into this genre before, but now I have a clearer image of where I'm headed.

Trying to gt back in to composing. I rielied on some of my old lazy techniques, and the crescendo goes nowhere, but it's the first time in a while where I've sat down and written.

30th Century Buddha

Two shorter pieces using the same ensemble, and written together. A little other worldly, I tried adding a bit of delicate piano. I did try to restrain myself with the choirs and drums, and I almost did it.

To Become A Man + Taming The Wolf

Actually took some time off work to remove the recent creative roadblock. I think it worked. Two days solid produced this piece, which emulates the style of one of the composers who inspire me.

Wending Wood

Music is amazing. You can define music in as many ways as you want, but for me, it's expression. The way of expressing a thought, idea, emotion, or story. When you listen to music, you should be taken away, encapsulated in it, and returned felling you've really experienced something. I create music because I love it, simple as that.

If I were to describe my influences, I would say James Newton Howard, Hans Zimmer, Martin O'Donnell, though I'm not often openly emulative. There are certainly others, including Holst, and many of the rock and metal bands I follow. As for inspiration... Anything. Everything.
