'You Are Gods’ is the first single to be unveiled from the lush new debut album from British synth wizard James Holden and Polish clarinet guru Waclaw Zimpel (Saagara, Shackleton).  

Holden & Zimpel continue their fruitful collaboration with the blissful escapism of ‘The Universe Will Take Care Of You’: a deeply emotive warm and fuzzy delight. 
The rich textures and beguiling sound palette of the entrancing 'The Universe...' roams freely between bucolic pastorals, insistent arpeggios and shimmering euphoria. 

Embracing the playful, experimental approach of their Krautrock forefathers to explore their deepest improvisational urges, this is the joyful convergence of two likeminded masters of their craft, weaving in violin, percussion, lap steel guitar and the Indian twin pipe algoza flute amongst the expected modular synth and clarinet.

Mixed and curated by both Nik Colk Void alongside long-term label associate Gabe Gurnsey, as well as new member Joe Ward, this momentous contribution to the label’s long-running series captures and combines many of the cult British band’s core influences, spanning New Order to Dean Blunt, Sandwell District, Drexciya and The Fall. Loaded with the band’s experimental, outsider spirit it’s a fine hour of physical, potent outsider music, including their recent single on Phantasy, ‘Between You’.

In celebration of the new LP from Leafcutter John on Border Community, we invited him to provide us with the 57th mix in our Bleep Mix series.

To create his seventh LP, Yes! Come Parade With Us, Leafcutter John drew inspiration from his personal history. Given that the LP was conceived in the great outdoors, it’s no surprise that Yes! Come Parade With Us is a record full of fresh and optimistic tracks. The sounds that Leafcutter John coaxes from his electronics here all have a charming positivity to them. Arpeggios, morning-phase pads, fairground vamps and whirring lead lines are just some of the tones that make an appearance. 

This mix is no different; an hour of mythical electronics and interesting instruments, all with folky, experimental and medieval influences.
