🌙 Dreaming of Africa

Prologue
The July night was thick, warm, and silent. Soleya lay with her eyes open in the dark, her new Afro melody pulsing through her headphones. Her heart beat in sync with that first, deep breath of the djembe. 🥁

Suddenly, with no boundary between waking and sleeping, she was no longer lying down – she was stepping. Barefoot. The sand was golden and fine, the air full of vibration. 🌾

Around her reigned a strange stillness – not silent, but filled with meaning. From afar came a soft, steady rhythm that seemed to call her. Beneath a majestic tree sat an old woman with a balafon in her lap and deep eyes that didn’t look – they remembered." Don’t be afraid," she whispered without moving her lips. "In this dream, you will remember." 🌙

Soleya stepped forward. The music had summoned her. Now the dream would take her.

Part 1 – Mali: The River of Memory
Soleya stepped into a slow, sacred silence. The old woman sat under a great tree, playing the balafon – its notes streamed like light across the surface of a river. A pulse rose from the ground and passed through Soleya’s ankles – gentle, but ancient. On the opposite bank, drums whispered like a heart telling stories. The woman didn’t speak, but her eyes said: "Don’t learn – remember." Soleya leaned into the rhythm – and let herself be carried by the water. 🌊

Part 2 – Burkina Faso: The Awakened Earth
When she emerged from the river, everything around her danced – the sand, the trees, the air. The rhythm had quickened – a vibrant 6/8, alive and trembling. Women’s voices sang, laughed, and ululated – joy itself was calling. Soleya stood in a circle of people clapping, drumming, shouting her name. "You are already here," a voice said. "You are not a stranger." She spun and became part of the ritual without knowing when or how. 🔥💃🏾

Part 3 – Senegal: The Breath of the Atlantic
Suddenly, everything fell quiet. A soft breeze touched her skin – it smelled of salt and distance. Behind her, a saxophone wept softly, like mourning something long lost. She sat on a rock, watching the ocean – light and waves, rhythm and memory. A voice whispered: "Sadness also belongs in music." Soleya leaned back and let her heart breathe with the tide. 🌬️🌊🎷

Part 4 – Côte d’Ivoire: The Market of Life
Night had fallen, but the city pulsed – lights, voices, footsteps, laughter. Amid the street noise, she heard an electric rhythm where drums, traffic, and joy all lived together. Children danced between stalls, and elders nodded with the beat that no one had learned – they simply lived it. A man with a street guitar winked at her, as if they’d met before. Soleya smiled – here, everything moved. Everything was music. 🎶🛖🌃

Part 5 – Pan-African Finale: One Unified Rhythm
Sounds from every place merged – balafon, saxophone, rain, a child, drums, wind – and for a moment, everything was one. Space spun around her like a circle of sound, and she was no longer separate. The final strike of the djembe brought her back. Soleya woke with her body trembling – the rhythm still echoed in her chest. She knew. She would go to Africa – not to learn, but to return. 🌍🖤

Epilogue
And as the dream faded, Africa stayed — like rhythm under her skin, like song waiting to be sung. 🎵🌌
