I bought myself a lovely new Samson C01U microphone yesterday and decided to test it out with a cover of Coldplay's song "Parachutes" for cello and voice.

Back in January, I got my first guitar and resolved to “learn guitar in 2018”.

I didn’t learn nearly as much as I’d hoped I would, but I did learn enough to record this simple cover of Blackbird.

I was given an audio interface for Christmas this year, which means I can now record guitar and bass lines directly into the computer instead of using mics against the amps. 

Here’s what I came up with in a couple of hours on Boxing Day. I haven't been singing much recently, so the vocals are un peu shite. Everything was done in Garageband and the guitars are going through virtual Garageband amps. The stock drone footage is from Pexels. 

My resolution for 2019 is to learn some new chords that involve more than just the root, the octave and a tenth…
