Nicolás Demattei nacido en Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires (Argentina), y actualmente residiendo en Madrid. A mediados de los años 90, tuvo si primer contacto con la música electrónica trabajando como RRPP de los mejores clubs electrónicos de su ciudad. De allí en adelante, desarrolló un profundo amor por el género y la Cultura de Club, presenciando diversos festivales a lo largo y a ancho del mundo.

 Influenciado por bandas como Depeche Mode o Radiohead y por Dj´s como John Digweed, Hernán Cattaneo o Danny Howells. Su oído evolucionó y se nutrió escuchando innumerables sesiones, encontrando e incorporando a su Adn un sonido y una marca distintiva basada en mezclas minuciosas y elegantes, dotadas de sonidos frescos y logrando crear armonías que generan una atmósfera esencial para la pista.

Hoy en día, trabajando como Founder en Lescat Producciones y Dj Residente en Underwater Events Madrid, Nicolas ha compartido cabina con artistas de primer nivel como Hernán Cattaneo, John Digweed, Sasha, Guy J, DJ Tennis, Lopezhouse Live, Mariano Mellino, Nick Varon, Juan Hansen, Ezequiel Arias, Joan Retamero, entre otros.

Born in 1983, Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires (Argentina), and currently living in Madrid, Nicolás Demattei had his first contact with electronic music in his teen years (mid 90s), working as PR for the best electronic clubs in his city. Thereafter, he developed a deep love for Club Culture, attending various festivals throughout the world.

He has been influenced by bands like Depeche Mode or Radiohead and by DJs like John Digweed, Hernán Cattaneo or Danny Howells. His ear evolved listening to countless sets, finding and incorporating into his DNA a distinctive sound and brand, based on elegant mixes, fresh sounds, and managing to create harmonies that generate an essential atmosphere for the dancefloor. 

He has shared decks with renowned artists such as Hernán Cattaneo, John Digweed, Sasha, Guy J, DJ Tennis, Lopezhouse Live,  Mariano Mellino, Nick Varon,  Ezequiel Arias, Juan Hansen, Joan Retamero, among others.

Skirling synth slices screaming from floated bass grounds far out like night flashes of lightning – doleful, detached, melancholic but always claiming! Algorhythm of constancy, caught in movement - furrow by furrow and line by line.

Facing a fake glittering sound environment, yelling at oneself day in, day out, schallfeld cross indifference with difference. An idea of thoughtfulness oscillating over every set like the sword of Damocles over the society of consumption. Sage placed elements in an accurate context develop greater meaning than overloaded, heavy compressed, hifi tone monsters. Less is More! Polyphony in the monotony of the rotating loop - furrow by furrow and line by line.

His tireless need to evolve and grow as creative entity and forward thinking artist pushes this Paris based composer to constantly seek a new musical excitement, naturally crossing musical genres, always keeping an eye on the original definition of the underground, in techno, electro, house, tech-house, deep house, minimal, releasing on acclaimed labels such as Get Physical, Noir Music, Suara, Definitive Recordings, Plus 8, Great Stuff, Knee Deep In Sound, Terminal M, Yoshitoshi, Stil Vor Talent, Toolroom, Tronic, Eleatics, etc...

As well as boasting a number of excellent releases under his own name, he also continues to put out a number of top-quality work under the alias of Ohmme. But his unwavering determination to push boundaries sets him apart from the others and his creativity span far beyond the music that’s brought him to international acclaim. In the last 15 years, Olivier wrote several songs for mainstream artists, top-selling video games, Hollywood box office movies, and composed the entire soundtrack to a full length feature film and multi award-winning horror movie 'The Red Man'.

Alongside his long time friend and partner John Acquaviva, he co-ran independent label Definitive Recordings from 2006 to 2016. Launched originally in 1991 by John Acquaviva, Richie Hawtin and Karl Kowalski, Definitive represented the housier side of the electronic empire that Hawtin and Acquaviva started with Plus 8 Records in 1990, and after a brief hiatus, John Acquaviva re-launched Definitive in 2005 with Olivier as his main artist and A&R, seeking and presenting the latest emerging sounds and talent to the world via a reputable, consistent, and trust-worthy platform.

With this impressive career achievements and a relentless work ethic for touring, Olivier is also known around the world for his exhilarating DJ performances that combine a heavy dose of groove inside an inspired blend of melodic flavors, demonstrating his talent behind the decks with an undoubtable versatility, adaptability, and headlining some of the world’s most iconic venues and events.

We are the "Dies | Das" collective, founded in spring 2020.
