This track started from a simple bending lick that moves down the strings. The rest of it kind of organically came out, and it has a very comfortable, fluid feeling in the hands. I think the verse has a bit of strength as well, like a rock that stands above the ocean waves.

As it is, it's a work in progress. I am seeking collaborators.

Circles

The central metal guitar riff that appears in the middle and end of this song is actually something I wrote 3 years go shortly after moving to Austin, Texas. In attempt to exert control over my life I wanted to write something that demonstrated power— there was little love going into that riff. I tried a few things with it but eventually put it on the back burner cause I didn't know where it could lead to.

Flash forward to more recently. I wrote the rest of the music in a haphazard way, meandering forward and backward through this song until I came up with a structure that I liked. This is the result of, largely, an exercise in structure, one of my favorite aspects of music. And I think I have finally come to cushion that power-hungry little riff I started 3 years ago with some music that is full of both love and wonder.
