the weather's getting colder, so I wanted to record a set that'd make the ride down first avenue a little more fun in the early morning chill. playing some new stuff, some old stuff, and some new stuff that sounds like old stuff. plenty of thump-thump and rough mixing to keep your morning coffee company.

November warmup

The homeworksucks series is a private assortment of one-off mixes I've done for myself. I decided to start recording some of my sessions with the simple intent of getting my favorite tunes on disk and in a format that I'd enjoy listening to myself, without having to worry about chasing after perfect mixing.

This particular volume was originally recorded back in April (2014), and I still find that I put it on for myself pretty regularly. It became clear that it'd stood the test of time, so here it is for you all. Hope you enjoy.

"you're having a meltdown," she said, her voice trailing off from somewhere far away, like timelapsed LED passing through crystal. she wasn't there. i jolted awake and got out from under the thermasense. threw on a navy jacket and went streetlevel 43 floors below. sirens of color flared on the pavement like dyed ghosts. dex junkies pooled together on the edge of the thoroughfare in ripped clothes, gaunt faces. my hands shook from the withdrawal -- bitrunning for the koreans was hard enough buzzed.

"they used to have beaches," I remember her saying, "isn't that wild?," hieroglyphs of light projecting across her cheek.

vague images of her face and trace whispers of things she said, even tho curdled by my broken memory, keep me moving through this weird city
