Manuel Castaneda a.k.a. Rigopolar is now based in Miami. He mixes up Italo, disco, techno and wave music on labels like Duro, Aeon, Nazca and Tom Tom Disco. He is a mainstay of the dark disco scene and always takes dance floors on a trip through space and time with his rough-edged but majestically melodic sounds. Partyfine returns with its next package of shimmering gems hot on the heels of the ‘Clean Drive Edits EP’. Carefully curated by main man Yuksek, the Reims based party label delivers a multi-track compilation of all original beats and beauties from a wide array of talent! Normally known for its ‘more or less disco’ brief, Partyfine takes a 
deeper, darker, and more exotic approach on this sixth chapter in their comp series.
On Partyfine Volume VI, there are artists who have been there right from the start like Get a Room! , who delivers a deliciously dark disco anthem that features CAR. Label head Yuksek drops two original afro-infused disco bangers on the comp, while Claap! gets ecstatic with a cut designed for those quiet but enigmatic early hours. Rubin Steiner turns the rhythm and the bass down deep and slow, while Polocorp 
(Polo & Pan) trucks on with the tripped-out exotica he is known for. Partyfine also welcomes some new artists to the fold like Patchworks (Voilaaa’s producer and member) with a track this is nothing but a pure house babe, and not unlike the vibe we are left with on Destino’s cut. Frank Agrario’s touch is low-fi and percussive, Plaisir de Frances offers up a hienergy club belter with vocoder in full effect, while Birdee’s delivery is probably the peak of the comp with its up-tempo shiny disco drop. Other new acts include Alex Blex, and the elusive African artist Francis de Francois. There’s a further new project 
called Ubaruh by Phillipi of Fatnotronic, with Villa closing out this collection on an uplifting vitamin jab of a vibe.
When the sun goes down, the dancers start to float, and the nights goes all trippy, this could well be the comp of your summer sundown. This party is fine!

Beyond The Struttosphere return to Gouranga in full force, two years following the release of their lauded debut EP, New Frontier. The title track of Astral Riders imagines the two cosmonauts burning through the atmosphere to a soundtrack of chugging metallic guitar stabs, syncopated arpeggiators and celestial 808 hits, coupled with an extraterrestrial vocal sample from the 1969 cult biker film, Easy Rider. The track builds in momentum, before propelling into cloud nine with a fully tranced-out crescendo. Remix duties are provided by two maestros of the scene: Mexican dark wave legend Rigopolar applies his signature formula to the original, stripping it back to its core components, and bolstering it with cosmic synths, driving motorik percussion and a Donna Summer style bassline that ramps up the groove. Israeli house aficionado Juvë delivers a second remix that draws on elements of deep house and comes loaded with distorted FX, ethereal pads and reverberating low-end synths that culminate in a spectacular drop. 

The second offering, Canyon Grit, is as gnarly and raw as its name suggests: this is full throttle dancefloor banger, commanded by a dynamic resonant chug bassline, reinforced with cutting snares, driving hi-hats, reverbed guitar loops, and Hendrix-inspired psychedelic 303 sequences that will leave you gasping for air. The original is backed by a stellar remix from Tiempo De Maldad, another Mexican stalwart, whose take cruises through hyperspace in unfaltering abandon, with kinetic drum workouts and spacey synths that navigate the tune to its tripped-out conclusion. 

The final track, Set Lasers To Stun, comes laden with intoxicating solo guitar recorded live on a vintage Stratocaster, deployed with euphoric Rhodes piano, galactic laser zaps, twanging new wave guitar chords, and the BTS trademark chug bassline. The EP closes with a remix from Rebolledo, head honcho of Burning Man’s Mayan Warrior and one half of the legendary Pachanga Boys. His contribution remodels the track into a dark and hypnotic desert trip, with dusty FX and dreamlike melodic pads that will no doubt teleport dancefloors into the stratosphere.

As predicted his career exploded after his last offering from this years' beginning. He plays international festivals, headlines club gigs and is all over the radio and even tv stations. More than deserved - his remarkable talent speaks for itself. Rumour has it he might return for playing a very special Feinstoff Party next year.
