Jamming with a contrabass is always exciting. Charlie Haden played this song with Brad Mehldau as well as Keith Jarrett. He must have loved this tune. I often enjoy listening to each versions and feeling interaction each of them. We played four times and this was the last take.

My Old Flame - Piano Bass Duo

Franco-British pianist and composer.
Grew up in Paris then moved to the US to study at Boston’s Berklee College of Music. After graduating lived in New York for six years and worked as a vocal accompanist, a music educator and led a trio,  recording eight albums, and accompanying performers such as Gino Sitson and Amy Winehouse.
After eleven years in the US, returned to Europe - now based in Lisbon, Portugal.

About the music:


I'm interested in simple ideas that go to unexpected places. Small melodic or harmonic shifts that surprise me. It’s not just something I search for in my own music, but also in other people’s.

Then there's the interaction with other musicians.
Finding a balance between individual and group expression - it doesn’t always work but when it does, feels like having a great conversation.
