Today brotha El. Train from Brighton drops the track "Control" featuring the enchanting Miki Rose out of Los Angeles.

The past few months we've been closely involved with Miki, because we're really feeling her style. When El. Train hit her up to lace some vocals for his upcoming "Somewhere Between" EP, we didn't expect this to happen though. This song has quickly become my personal favorite song from Miki Rose in a short amount of time and I'm very sure it will become an all time favorite of yours too!

Singer Danderson and Brasstracks collaborate on the EP and Jengibeats, Trian Kayhatu and JNTHN STEIN deliver some serious remixes for this project.

It is our pleasure to premiere the first track and be able to provide a FREE DOWNLOAD as well! Somewhere Between was created as a way to spotlight some of El. Train's favorite artists as he looks to incorporate original vocals into his productions. The EP comes out January 11th and will be released via Shimmy Records.

It's always heartening when the quietly committed are granted their righteous rewards. In this case: rise up, K15. After a six-year residency at Jazz Café and a string of all-too-unsung releases on Wotnot Music, it was only a matter of when rather than if that K15 would catch his wave. Now with Insecurities — his wonderfully deep debut on Kyle Hall's Wild Oats — in the trunk (and in amongst several end-of-year lists), dude's been given the well-earned honour of cutting the tape on No Room For Air, Wild Oats' newborn sister label.

"Mist" is a gentle sleepwalk into a lower key: a turn down from the club and a chance for K15 to parade his soulful versatility. A blend of head-nod drums, rising strings, and a gorgeous Amerie flip to boot — it's only a crime this one ends so soon.

South London has become an endless wellspring of creativity. Our very own Bradley Zero continues to make things happen with the vinyl-only debauchery of Rhythm Section, and just around the corner 22a Records are turning their penchant for half-slung beats and soul-flecked rhythms into a full blown movement. 

Henry Wu is a member of the latter making steadfast advances with his output. Rewind back to last February's delectable two-tracker for Natural Complexion and the back-to-back Jean Bassa cut for home stable 22a as evidence.

"Just Negotiate" is one of five groove-inducing jams from the Negotiate EP, housed by Alex Nut's HoTep imprint and out on February 16th. Powered by Simeon Jones' lush vocal sways, it teeters gracefully between the crevices of soul and synth-oozing funk. Groove on.
