Having enjoyed a significant amount of online love, Jamhuri Jam Sessions is back with special Mother’s Day tribute as they inch closer to the premier of Season 3. MAMA is a Swahili word, that transcends boarders, used to mean mother and this release speaks of the love for and from MAMA, a Queen.
A mother’s love. No words can amount to or account for a mother’s love. The type of love that no deep sea diver cannot want to drown in. The type of love that withstands all and stands strong. A love so precious and true.
“Motherhood is beautiful, I must say. Children bring out the best and worst in us. And bring out all emotions in the world yet when I walk through the door, the hugs, smiles and kisses are simply the best thing ever,” said Olive, a mother of two.
“I had a video call with my mum but I couldn’t hear a word she said because of the noisy background I was in. So instead, we just stared at each other for about 5 minutes, smiling. That made my heart swell. That is true love. Thank you mama” Tom Olang’o, founder of Jamhuri Festival.
A first release composed under Jamhuri Festival, MAMA was written by the super talented musician, Bensoul Mutua, who co-performed on the track with the exceptional Phil and the soulful Zeshari. MAMA was recorded and produced by Polycarp ‘Fancyfingers’ Otieno.
