Solid Grooves favourite Blackchild is the next to land on Hot Creations with the Groove Dealer EP. The three track release serves up heavy-duty club rollers, moulding Blackchild’s early influences with a contemporary flare. 

Title track Groove Dealer kicks off proceedings with a heavy sub-bass and chopy hats as melodic brass tones add the key ingredient. Siempre is next up, following suit with elevating brass notes, punchy percussion and dreamy synths. Rounding off the EP, Inmydreams is a deep and dark cut built for the late night hours, ignited by the blissful and hypnotic vocals. Blackchild reveals that "this upcoming EP on Hot Creations represents exactly what my sound is. The inspiration for these tracks come from all the old Jazz and Motown records I used to listen to growing up, with a modern Blackchild touch." 

Originally from a small island in the gulf of Naples called Ischia, Blackchild is the artist name for Italian artist Gennaro Filisdeo. Heavily influenced by his father‘s record collection, he grew up listening to Hip-Hop, RnB, Disco and old school House music. He began to produce at the age of eighteen, but it was in 2019 that Blackchild joined the Solid Grooves roster, which led him to play at statement venues and festivals such as Printworks London, Auditorium Torremolinos Malaga and ADE Festival. 2020 saw chart success with his track Sexy Thing going straight to #2 in the Beatport Top 10 Tech House Chart and #5 in the Overall Top 10 Chart. 2021 looks set to continue in the same direction with a busy release schedule on the way.

When Radio 1’s Danny Howard brought his Lockdown Linkup series to the world in 2020, he set about teaming up the world’s leading dance producers for a collection of collaborations. Among those was ‘Whisper’, the product of long-time friend of Defected Dennis Ferrer and South London trio Disciples, who made a powerful and perhaps unexpected transatlantic partnership. Quickly catching the attention of Simon Dunmore, ‘Whisper’ was signed to Defected, who now commission red-hot remixes from heavy hitters of the house scene. Chicago’s man-of-the-moment John Summit takes on the assignment with ease, injecting the record with a hefty dose of club muscle that moves away from the ethereal sound of the original. A record that would comfortably sit in the Windy City star’s high-energy DJ sets, there is no doubt this mix will take this lockdown heater into its next phase, as dancefloors reopen across the globe.

Samuele Scelfo, Davide T & Side B link up across two red-hot new tracks on Hottrax. 

Florence talent Samuele Scelfo returns for his third outing on Jamie Jones’ lauded Hottrax imprint, following a huge 2023 that saw him land on labels from Sola to Repopulate Mars, with his standout track ‘Playin Around’ on the latter picking up over 500,000 streams on Spotify. 

Scelfo joins forces with Side B, who is known for his edgy cuts on the likes of Mood Child and Of Unsound Mind, for the speaker-rattling 'Vibrate' - a ravey cut with a filthy bassline that drills down below crisp tech drums and Detroit-style synth stabs that will get hands in the air. 

On the digital flip, Scelfo links with Davide T, a budding producer from Milan with credits on Moxy Muzik, Snatch! and CUFF. Together they impress with 'Lollipop Kiss', a wonky club track with woodpecker-style synth loops that are heavily filtered next to wobbly low-end and low-slung drums.
