WaFF – Ibiza

The next release on NoZzo Music comes courtesy of label frontmen Tomi & Kesh, as they collaborate with Argentinian talent Jay De Lys on a massive new terrace-ready rolling Tech House bomb - W2DO.

Undeniably one of the most prolific producers in the world of Tech House over the last few years, Jay De Lys is a name that you can associate with releases on some of the industry's biggest labels - including Moon Harbour, Ultra, Deeperfect, Toolroom and more.

Fitting nicely into the NoZzo Music blueprint, W2DO is a progressively groovy affair. Built on a sturdy base of rolling drums and rattling percs, its rhythmic cadence inspires a side to side sway as you melt into its journey.

Its peaks and troughs - controlled by an incredible vocal hook - provide an ebb and flow capable of rocking any packed terrace or dancefloor with relative ease.

UK DJ/producer Wheats returns to Jamie Jones’ Hottrax this July with ‘Another Level EP’. 

Following two outstanding EP’s on Hottrax with ‘Another Planet’ and ‘In Your Head’, as well as previous releases on Kaluki, Circus, and Solid Grooves, Wheats delivers another high-quality package for Jamie Jones’ imprint with four tripped-out minimal house tracks on ‘Another Level EP’. 

‘Iz It Done’ starts the release with a flurry of machine-like clicks, pops, and whirs twisting around mangled vocals as a deep low-end pulses throughout. Following this, ‘Chrome Visuals’ sees detailed FX swirl around pounding kicks before a spaced-out breakdown intervenes, bringing a dose of late-night freakiness to proceedings. 

‘N Down’ picks up where ‘Chrome Visuals’ left off, heading straight for the dancefloor as various bass hits and effected samples converge under creeping pads before ‘Control’ closes out the release with textured synth work, swung percussion, and a vocal-laden breakdown.

Paris Green is Mitchel Kelly and Thijs Bastiaans, an Amsterdam based duo who have already made big waves with their first critically acclaimed single ‘You Got To Try’ made famous in the underground by Rebellion / Crosstown Rebels  and consistent BBC Radio1 support. Now they lend their sound to one of our mainstays, Hot Since 82. The boys deliver an electrifying remix of Hot Since 82’s 2012 breakout hit ‘Like You’. Paris Green manage to keep the tracks spirit alive after all these years, giving the percussion a jazzy touch and pumping up the bassline before an acid bath. The bubbly result gives enough power to steam the dancefloor into a fury, no matter when or where. Of course the original is on board as well. It’s huge bassline and itchy percussion is still bringing the heat after half a decade, ‘Like You’ has aged very well.

Hot Since 82 - Like You (Snippet)

Spanish DJ and producer Bassel Darwish is a man on a mission to deliver the hottest tech beats to the world’s dancefloors! The Barcelona artist has been dropping heat on some of the scene’s most outstanding labels like Solid Grooves, Stereo Productions, Material and Moan. He is a regular fixture in the Beatport top 10 charts and his musical skills have earned him some heavyweight support including Marco Carola, wAFF, Dennis Cruz and our very own Stefano Noferini to name but a few. 
The opening cut ‘Colours’ is a rolling tech house jam with a chunky drum line and a bouncing bass. The track uses crunchy drums delivered with a loopy minimal aesthetic to bring the beat to life. Slick FX and rising synths fire off as a catchy vocal sample rings out across the track. 
Again on ‘Control’ Bassel Darwish demonstrates his signature production sound, which walks the line between tech house and minimal. A punchy, syncopated bass rhythm gives the track an effortless groove and funky vibe while remaining restrained and succinctly underground in it’s delivery. 
Wrapping up the package is ‘System’, which leans more in the tech house direction. A heavy swinging drumline is backed up by a pounding bass groove and energetic horn stabs. Subtle melodic elements and sparse effects carry the groove as a spoken word vocal perks the ears during the breakdown, before the peak time groove comes crashing back in.
