This is an album that I worked really hard on and am super proud of. It was a final project for my music major in college but it is also a music project that I really wanted to do on its own. It is very much inspired by artists like Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Bon Iver, The Decemberists, The Mountain Goats, Sufjan Stevens, and Johnny Cash. I really hope you like it!!

Jamming With Helluva Gambit (Unofficial Fitz Collab)

Jamie The Optimist aka Jamie Polson is a rapper, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist hailing from northwest Philadelphia. He comes from a very musical household which was the catalyst for his music making. He draws inspiration from the likes of Pete Seeger, Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, The Mountain Goats, Childish Gambino, Amine, Tyler the Creator, Yung Gravy, BBno$, Jacob Collier, Louis Cole, Lawrence, Vulfpeck, KYLE, Marc Rebillet, Reggie watts, and Flight of the Conchords. 

Jamie started writing songs when he was 10 on his ukulele and hasn’t stopped since. His music has a certain infectious innocence to it that you can’t help but bob your head to. 

He released his debut album at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic entitled “A Good Place to Start” which was met with rave reviews by his peers and was a hip hop inspired project. His sophomore album entitled “Lost and Found” was released in December of 2021 and was quite a tone shift for the young artist. Drawing more heavily on his folk influences. It too was reviewed very highly by friends and fellow musicians. 

Jamie’s goal is to eventually tour the world and to collaborate with many of his favorite artists. With his optimism, creativity, and positivity it seems there is nothing standing in his way from accomplishing his goals.
