Always a pleasure to be jamming with Scotland's Ian Tait   https://soundcloud.com/ian-tait, one of my favorite 3 Scottish musicians - only behind Ian Anderson and Jack Bruce (sorry Ian). You'll recognize Ian's signature funky guitar playing, wicked sense of humor, outstanding wild graphics and great taste. Ian loves his wah wah pedal, combining it to create so many infectious compositions and grooves.

In fact, as a serious chef, Ian is also known for his tasty cooking. Enjoy these tracks we have done together. And give em a listen if you already have. They get better with age, like the fine wine that pairs with Ian's cooking....

Ian is always up for a great jam - often into the wee hours of the night - and we've also recorded together here with two other outstanding SC guitarists and friends - Tom Adams and Justin Valente

Let It Fly

In addition to being a fine guitar player with a tremendous sense of humor, Ian Tait cooks.  Both on his Strat and in the kitchen.  He's a very fine professional chef from Scotland whose specialty is pastries.   Not blowing anything up your Kilt when I say fine.  So when we put this together, Cooking with Ian seemed to be the perfect title.  Loved working together with him....you'll really enjoy his funky and tight playing.   Thanks so much Ian...great fun

One might think that at midnight, Scotland's top chef and SC guitarist Ian Tait is done cooking.  But no - a note to me says lets do a late night jam.  So we gather the ingredients - keyboards, guitar, bass, drums and vibes - and get to work.  A little later we have some dessert to share with you - Smooth Move - a simply I-IV jam that modulates a few times. The song is originally intended to be a Chillout and meditative , but Ian's guitar work has added an unexpected rock ballad flavour to the song !!. Blues For Charlie is a dedication to the lives that were lost recently in Paris and now Copenhagen.  Our hope is that the emotion of the playing here touches people to remind them of the sadness of these horrible acts.

Hey Folks...as you guys know my Strat was in getting a complete overhaul recently as it had been out of action for a wee while....She's been playing beautifully,sounding great too! :)

It's time for another fun one with Scotland's finest executive chef and SC funk master, Ian Tait https://soundcloud.com/ian-tait.  Ian sent me a track and asked me to do my thing with keyboards.  The tune includes a combination of grooves, with funk, funk rock, a little latin, some disco and a little touch of what I will call Pink Floyd.  All packaged together neatly.    We are sure you will enjoy it...

The funkiest guitar player on SoundCloud is BACK, with this grooving original, Can't Get Enough Of You.  Scotland's finest has teamed up with Germany's super funky slap bass marvel Mirko "Stringburner" Borach, creating what I can only say reminds me of one of the all time greatest tunes, Mountain's Mississippi Queen.  But Mountain never had a rhythm section playing with this much funk!  Ian's letting me do my thing on keyboards, and you can hear me soloing in the right channel, trying to hold my own over this nasty rocking blues.

Funk Yeah!

Calaminus is back with a super funky collaboration, Catch the Drift.   Such a fine composition from the SC World Funkmaster, Jorg Calaminus.  He's done so much here and then listen to his fantastic piano/synth solo.  Over the course of 5 minutes, Jorg takes us from funk to some Hawaiian Island groove, back to the funk, to fusion, to 70's rock, and then back to the funk.  Something like that.  Maybe more.  Jorg's for years been one of the Cloud's finest creators, merging Funk, World, Fusion and Jazz.  With Jorg, rhythm and syncopation drive his music.  And taste.  There's always a surprise around the turns, and lots of layers.  Heavy music and a pleasure to be releasing this together. So great to have him back with his wonderful grooves.

Originally from Chicago, where I developed a strong appreciation for the blues and classical, and moved to New York, where jazz and the fine arts are so deep.
