The kids have latin-american roots, but live in Berlin. They love soul music. They like Moodymann. And french filter house - this certain sex appeal. The first track Caliente is a hymn to Mexico. It was made with a little help from Munk. The backingtrack reminds late 90ies Soul-house artists like Black Science Orchestra or Masters at Work. The other two tracks are funk-driven DJ tools for old school dancefloors. Friends of Max Graef or Todd Terje will love this.

Aroy Dee is proud to present the long awaited return of his peer and friend, Melvin Oliphant III, with a stunning solo-project on MOS Deep. Under his The Poetic Painter M pseudonym, the man here serves up ‘Marie's Transcendance’ backed-up by two reworks from compadre Sean Hernandez aka Chicago Skyway.

‘Marie's Transcendance’ is a frenetic yet hypnotizing house track that echoes memories of downpitched Newbeat material and the hooky coldness of new wave. Olliphant III, though, re-defines rather than regurgitates these influences and re-launches them into a dark and moody acid-flecked future. Drenched in icy and pitch-dark deepness, the haunting strings in the track could have been played by Chris & Cosey themselves.

On the flipside, Chicago Skyway takes “Marie's Transcendance” to another realm, reworking it into a deep, emotional just as acid-version which seems to float into eternity as solid 808-beat programming plays out busily behind.

To complete the project, Aroy Dee edits a second rework of “Marie’s”, creating a simple but highly effective and bouncing track that’s carried along by a psychedelic, out-of-this-world bass line: vintage house sounds from three modern masters…

Taught by musicians whilst growing up in West London and trained in improvisation and keyboards whilst living in Bristol Jamie additionally developed into an avid record collector, studio engineer and DJ. Throughout the 2000’s Jamie delivered highly acclaimed productions on some of the world’s most respected labels including Rekids, International Deejay Gigolos, Cocoon, Outland, 100% Pure along with albums on NRK and Harthouse. Now based in the city of Berlin Jamie is currently honing his talents for releases on labels such as Flash, On Edge Society, Bedrock, Alleanza, Fossil Archive and Elevate.
