For the show's 24th anniversary, the focus was on some of the records legendary DJ Alfredo Fiorito played at Amnesia, Ibiza during the summers of 1984-89.  Because nobody can confidentially give a definition of what truly constitutes Balearic without causing an international incident, I decided to go back the source - Alfredo's record bag from that time.

Saturday Seshions 'Cosmic Carnage' - HDSN (3/2/24)

Here'z yet another dope live mix by my brother of another mother, DJ Pierre. Thee innovator of Acid House & tha creator of the Wild Pitch sound.I have to give much prop'z to my brother for helping me out to staying focused when creating music & djing. We played a lot together at various clubs around the globe & let me tell you, every time I'd play, Pierre would jump on the EQ & tweak it while I dj'd. There was something magical about our sets together.
I also have to give Pierre mad respect for supplying me with unreleased music to test out on all the radio shows I did. I also learned a lot on how he works on his productions. That alone was alwayz a treat to just soak up as much as I can.
Anyhow, this is a live set of my brother from Wicked in San Francisco. Talk about a musical journey!!!

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.
