jamiesaysmile (Dan Hayes) is a solo artist from Wakefield making melodic-pop-alt sounds - in thrall to Get Cape Wear Cape Fly and Biffy Clyro. 

This is the first track from the new jamiesaysmile EP "Outside Now"

Following a packed out launch event at Wah Wah Records in Wakefield, the new jamiesaysmile EP "Outside Now" was released on 2nd June. 

BBC Introducing have already spotted / played this track (and others) in May 2014. 
Alan Raw also had jamiesaysmile in for a live acoustic session on BBC Leeds (late May 2014). 

jamiesaysmile has been fortunate enough to support some brilliant artists/song writers so far with his live acoustic set, such as RM Hubbert, Harry George Johns (ex dinosaur pile up), Nine Black Alps, the Wave Pictures and is really pleased to be playing Long Division again in Sept 2014.

"jamiesaysmile releases his second EP "Grand Authentic Stage' on 1st July. 

This is the one man project of Wakefield based writer / producer Dan Hayes. After a well received demo last year, this follow up EP proves that a DIY attitude does not restrict you to lo-fi bedroom recordings. 

Written and recorded single-handedly in his home studio, these 5 tracks showcase a love of complex but pop orientated Indie / Alt-Emo / Rock in thrall to bands such as Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly / Bloc Party / Biffy Clyro. 

Mixing epic, swelling emotional crescendos with more delicate, intimate moments, jamiesaysmile’s skill lies in making those transitions seem natural; a rarely seen attention to detail and obsessive perfectionism that has produced an EP that sounds like nothing else around.

It includes 3 big, full band tracks that have only been made available to stream before now, with 2 never before heard acoustic versions, reflecting the live acoustic set on show at jamiesaysmile gigs today. A full band live line-up is also in sight (watch this space).
