Over the past decade and a half -- much of it spent on the road -- Yonder Mountain String Band has spearheaded a renegade movement to rewrite the definition of bluegrass. Alongside other neo-bluegrass friends, YMSB has thoroughly revitalized and contemporized the genre and introduced it to many thousands of new fans. Yonder Mountain String Band is comprised of Adam Aijala (guitar, vocals), Dave Johnston (banjo, vocals), Ben Kaufmann (bass, vocals), Allie Kral (violin, vocals), and Jacob Jolliff (mandolin, vocals).

First crossing paths after being assigned as freshman roommates in college, the production duo of Michael Saenz and Logan Gomez, have been exploring songwriting and music production together for over a decade.

2025 marks a particularly milestone year for the duo with their first appearances on both BBC Radio 1 Dance (Jaguar) and Capital Chill as well as their recent release ’Let Go’ with Jyll reaching #1 on SiriusXM Chill.

Banyan views each song as a process of self-discovery and constantly strives to challenge their own limitations and refine their art with each release. But the thread that has remained most consistent throughout their work is the depth of emotion they imbue into their music.
