I got the opportunity to officially remix this classic song to coincide with the release of a new Donny Hathaway box set. I was given the original multitrack master of the studio version (different from the live version)and it consisted of 8 different instrument and vocal tracks (as opposed to the more usual 24 tracks) 
When I take on a remix, my first goal is to make it work on a current dance floor. I like to stay very close to the originally recorded sound and In most case there's plenty to be reworked on the multitrack master to achieve this. 
This case proved a little different as there were few rhythm elements I could use to fit within current standards of club loudness levels. So I decided to take a slightly different approach, and add a new set of (acoustic) drums,  to bend the original Soul vibe a little towards Disco territory.

Texturally, the track blends grit and polish. Mechanical pulses coexist with luminous tones, symbolizing the balance between discipline and vision. The mix feels cinematic yet grounded, powerful without becoming overwhelming. It is music that moves the body while steadying the mind.

This sneak peek signals a broader sound direction—confident, driving, expansive. It hints at themes of ascent, endurance, and self-directed power that will unfold further in the full release. The track does not explain itself; it demonstrates through motion.

Heaven Engine (Flion God Mix) is built for movement: night drives, focused work, training, or moments when forward energy is needed. It does not shout motivation. It provides thrust.

This is not the destination.
It is the ignition.

I always liked a lot this song, from the album "Mama Said", very different from the others. And always imagined it with a beat 4/4... As in that Re-Edit. There it is, I hope you enjoy it!!
