My version of this classic. Neil Diamond has been a major influence for me. I performed many Neil Diamonds songs over the years, but in recent years had kind of shifted my focus to my original songs and other artists. I was in the studio and came across this again and decided to record it.

This is something I was playing around with in the studio this weekend. All the tracks, including the strings, brass, and guitar solo were done on my Kurzweil PC3K8 and I sang all the vocal tracks. I love the PC3K8! It is the Swiss Amy knife of keyboards! I also have a K2500 in the rack. Although I didn’t use any sounds from that module for these tracks, Rick Wright of Pink Floyd had many Kurzweil keyboards and sound modules in his racks over the years. I would also always look for them when I went to see them in concert or in televised appearances. When I was about 16 I had heard the Wish You Here album for first time and it motivated me to get a keyboard and start playing again. (Playing piano wasn't cool back then) I worked at the Market Basket near Daddy’s Junky Music in Salem, NH. I took my first $80 paycheck from bagging groceries and brought it there and put 10% down on a $800 Roland Juno 106. I kept going back until it was paid off and then sat in my room playing along with Shine on You Crazy Diamond over and over trying to learn all the parts. If it wasn’t for Rick Wright and Pink Floyd, I probably wouldn't playing today which is why Rick Wright was to me like John Lennon was to others when he passed. Coincidentally, Rick Wright did not play on this album, but this was still always one my favorite tracks. There is no bass or drums on the track. Bass I might have pulled off on keyboards but I know my limitations when it come to drums. Anyways, Enjoy and Cheers!
