Kikinit is the stage name of a Prince George hiphop artist named John. 
He's been making music since he was a young kid. I spoke with him about his music and mixed it with some of the songs he writes about his personal experience.

Summer 2017 was the worst wildfire season on record-- and Prince George's city staff, as well as the mayor and council, threw a party for the volunteers who stepped up to make hosting 30,000 evacuees possible.

Fifteen young adults from the Moricetown band, near Smithers B.C., spent four months fundraising to pay for a day of flight lessons.

The youths, aged 16 to 28, did odd jobs in their community and sold treats in town to come up with the cash.

Their youth program mentor, Robert Stewart, convinced them to raise $3,350 for the day of lessons, hoping to inspire some of them to become bush pilots.

Tessa Erickson wants to revitalize her nation's language.
She's a fifteen year old high school student at DP Todd Secondary in Prince George--
and a member of the Nak'azdli Whut'en band. 
She felt sad that she couldn't speak her nation's language.
So she put in place a plan to learn it-- and with the help of her chief and council--
make an app and a summer camp to teach the rest of her community as well.
