JTZ - (PILLOW TALK)

JTZ was born in the Bay Area of Northern California, at a time where free love and music were what the people breathed on a daily basis. His father a musician and a connoisseur of musical instruments, JTZ learned at a young age the power that music had, a way to connect to the people.

JTZ moved to Sacramento and spent his adolescent years on the streets of Valley Hi. Never one to be shy or quiet, JTZ made friends all over Sacramento. Known for his expressive story telling, and boyish good looks, JTZ never missed the opportunity to share his passion for life.

Throughout his high school years, JTZ realized his ability to free-style and his love for a “good beat” was a little more than the average. An expressive and passionate rapper, JTZ began testing his abilities at local parties, and school functions, the response and reaction to his energy was always positive.

Shortly after graduating JTZ was approached by a high school friend and asked to join a rap group, which was eventually named “847“ after the block they grew up on. During this period, JTZ strengthened his craft and poured his heart into an album that would take almost 2 years to complete. After the completion of their first album “847- I-5 to 80“  JTZ  traveled and performed at numerous events, trying to make sure their music was heard. Eventually falling victim to the street life,  JTZ would spend the next several years of his life in and out of prison. Finally breaking the chains of his own mind, off parole and gaining a renewed energy towards life, he reconnects with the artist within.

In the beginning of 2012, his  passion and love for music, would re-ignite. Music would allow him the freedom to express himself and a new found purpose to touch the world. With a focus and a dream, JTZ began his journey of self discovery, through his music.

10LETTAtv started as a video blog on YouTube, sharing his story of his awakening and his conviction to speak to the world, and would eventually turn into the launch of his own production company,The Kollektive Entertainment. 10LETTAtv documents every step in the creation of this new artist, along with sharing his story and showing his versatility in the creation of his first solo album.   

Through out 2012, JTZ has grown and continued to evolve as an artist. From the hard core street passion of his first single and music video- Recognition, to the release of his smooth and instant classic FACEBOOK, there is definitely not a box you could fit this artist into. 

2013 will be the beginning of the next chapter, with the completion of his album and awareness of his audience, JTZ is just beginning to show the world his many colors. This will be a story that you would definitely want to follow.
