Not sure why, but this song gets me into my deep thoughts. Makes me remember when times were good.

La première fois que j’ai posé le pied à Paris,
c’était entre la fin septembre et le début octobre.
Venue des régions subtropicales,
j’ai aussitôt senti le froid me saisir.
Assise sur un banc dans un vaste parc,
le paysage derrière moi était si grandiose
que, sur la photo, je ne suis plus qu’un petit point.
Les feuilles voltigeaient dans le vent —
certaines tournaient malicieusement avant de se poser,
d’autres, fatiguées, gisaient au sol,
quelques-unes refusaient encore le repos, se bousculant et riant,
et d’autres, toujours accrochées aux branches,
se moquaient de leurs compagnes déjà tombées.
Je me souviens encore —
de la respiration du vent, tantôt douce, tantôt vive,
de la danse des feuilles maquillées de rouge, d’orange et d’or,
du battement précipité de mon cœur en terre étrangère...
Je me souviens de tout —
sauf d’une chose :
toi, celui qui a appuyé sur le déclencheur,
flou, à jamais, au bord de ma mémoire.
