For NVR005 Nu Venture Records present another debut EP, in the form of LoHi Stereo’s Moods EP. Following on from Salaryman - Your Own Story EP, NVR continue in a similar direction, with their second release of this style. Covering an assortment of styles and techniques; from the down tempo, soulful and expansive sounds of ‘State of Life’ to the serious heavyweight ‘Cornered‘, which unlocks that deep and sinister dance floor potential individuals crave.

The EP also includes a distinctively upbeat Drum & Bass Remix of the established masterpiece, ‘Macca - Love Is Tender‘, that figured as Nu Venture’s all conquering opening release.

● [A] LoHi-Stereo - Cornered:
Cornered is the first instalment from the Moods EP, giving an insight into what you can expect from this 3 track debut EP. Forcing you into a false sense of security, the intro fills you with a feeling of emptiness, combined with sharp hats, piercing drums and echoing vocals the suspense begins to build. Listeners then become consumed by this heavy hitting dark horse, that is designed to test the capabilities of any speaker system. Established club material, the intense bass is certain to get any dance floor moving down low.

● [B] Macca – Love is Tender (LoHi Stereo Remix):
First there was the Hosta Remix and now, sampled directly from NVR001, comes the LoHi Stereo Remix of this classic, powerful and chilled Dubstep track, Love is Tender. Hosta supplied the upbeat Liquid DnB vibes for his Remix, then came a new edit at the opposite end of the Drum & Bass spectrum, courtesy of LoHi Stereo. Continuing where Cornered left off, this LoHi Stereo Remix sees them apply their trademark sound, fusing together abrupt drums and a routine deep driving bassline. Expertly combining samples to feature high tempo powerful vocals, emotional strings and a warm piano melody that defines the original mix.

● [C] LoHi-Stereo – State of Life:
State of Life is a reflection of the emotions of the EP, consisting of soft soulful vocals, expansive overtones and captivating pads to create an intriguing ambience. Crisp drums and relentless highs, integrated with warm expansive bass and uplifting atmospheric breaks, all blend to complete this dynamic EP finale. A track that is destined to leave heads rolling.

► LoHi-Stereo Bio:

LoHi Stereo are a DJ / Production quartet, hailing from the U.S.A & Puerto Rico. Four friends with a common interest, Angel (Judge), Rafael (Trixx), Ruben (Roove) and Andres (Rapid) formed LoHi Stereo after not being content with just playing other peoples’ tracks. For their production career they decided to go back to their roots, expanding their music to another level. With influences such Ed Rush & Optical, Konflict, Stakka & Skynet, Dbridge and Calibre, amongst others, this was only ever going to be a winning formula.

Since their conception LoHi Stereo have had the privilege of playing at highly regarded venues, from across both their homelands, including; Electric Daisy Carnival in Orlando, Rio Grande Plantation, Tunnel de Guajataca and Las Cuevas de Camuy. In doing so they have experienced lining up alongside DJ heavyweights such as; Fresh, Andy C, Pendulum, Loadstar, Dirtyphonics, LTJ Bukem, Ed Rush & Optical, Dieselboy and many more. When not on the same bill as Drum & Bass’ elite you can find LoHi Stereo smashing FM radio waves as well as indulging club goers in Puerto Rico.

With their debut imprint, the Moods EP, firmly established upon the Drum & Bass genre, 2013 looks to be a promising year for LoHi-Stereo. With more productions awaiting to be unleashed on an eager audience and numerous opportunities to catch the masters of the turntables live in action, this certainly won’t be the last you will be hearing of the name LoHi Stereo!
