J & The Rest are a London based Band who play music firmly rooted in R&B, with their toes dipping into various other genres like pop/indie/alternative/soul.

The band was formed in 2014, and as the name suggests, is fronted by South East London-born J.Alexander.

“The Rest” are John Bird Jr (Bass), Louis Querelle (Keys) & Ricky Russell (Drums).

Influences that have shaped their sound include MJ, A Tribe Called Quest, Tank, Kid Creole and the Coconuts, Coldplay, Bloc Party and Chris Brown.

The band have played various events alongside acts such as Tinie Tempah, Robin Thicke, Groove Armada, and Rebecca Ferguson. As well as at notable events such as The Cannes Film Festival, and at the private residence of the American Ambassador to the UK.

2017 will see J & The Rest gigging and recording more material for their much anticipated first album and subsequent tours.
