As clearly as I see what happened then
Before me now, it happens again

Greet the faces, scenes and figures in the fire
The howl and the roar rattling windows, pews and doors
Sheets of lead ripped clean from the high church spire
The dark invests the storm with terror in new forms

Fearful of falling stacks, the showered salt rains down
Streets strewn with sand dunes; trees torn from the ground
The tremendous sea in the grip of the blinding crown
High watery walls whip and engulf this shattered town

As clearly as I see
It happens again

The ship’s bell rang on deck; she rose with two men gone
He made toward the wreck, striving valiantly and strong
They drew him to the shore and tried by all means and skills
So shaken to the core, a generous and meek heart stilled

Happy Piano Day!

Impressionist piece inspired by the experience of free diving--wandering and peaceful with a tinge of anxiety in the back of the mind.

Some musical elements are borrowed from my album "Seven Dreams of the Orb Weaver" https://soundcloud.com/skai-eriksson/sets/seven-dreams-of-the-orb-weaver.

Some inspiration from Debussy may be heard in the shifting tonal center and more overtly with the pentatonic runs.

To convey the irregular undulations of the sea and the uneven activity level of freediving I fully indulged in tempo rubato--I think I ended up with tempo rubato e rotto :-)

My dear Dad was always with me when I was a child, but now we've been apart for over 2 years due to the war. My parents' home exists only in my memory. I wish all the children in Ukraine whose fathers have to defend the country peace and reunion of their families.

I have TMJ jaw surgery on my birthday 20 August.. good or bad we will see.

Unbelievable, Spotify people still try to sabotage me. A girl from instagram (AC) and her piano, string label tried to secretly release her songs/album (oh, just coinicidentally 8 tracks as well) on the day before all my releases and my album).
