And no; this is not dedicated to Owsley Stanley (heh) but it is a 'hommage' to the great Chuck Rainey, bassist extraordinaire.

Arrangement and all instrumental tracks by me. Look for the final project to be posted at a later date, which will feature the aforementioned, yet to be asked players.

This track actually has been a few years in the making. I had started it some three or so years back, then shelved it for various reasons, laziness being one of them. It involved a lot of work!

But I finally got back to it. So, here is my foray into big band arrangement.  I present "MJC & the Juno-DS Orchestra." 

A jazz standard composed by Jimmy Van Heusen in 1939 with lyrics by Johnny Mercer, its main influence here is directly attributable to an excellent Tom Scott arrangement recorded and released back in 1993 by the amazing vocalist and pianist Diane "Deedles" Shuur. That recording, from the release "Love Songs," has intrigued me since first hearing it.
