'Mental Abrasions', re-done in classic 8-bit sounds by Brendan Becker. Also known by his stage name 'Inverse Phase', Becker is an American video game composer and chiptune musician, who uses old-school sounds that most would associate with classic Nintendo video games.

In 2012, Inverse Phase rose to prominence with “Pretty Eight Machine,” his chiptune cover album of Nine Inch Nails' classic debut album. Now, he’s worked the same magic on Jane in Space’s anthem “Mental Abrasions,” which conjures up thoughts of Super Mario and other Nintendo classics from a time when the internet and Starbucks didn't exist, when it cost 25 cents to play a classic game of Donkey Kong or Asteroids, instead of the growing popular nickel arcades, or when matinee B-movies were the only option because binge-watching an entire season of Stranger Things on Netflix was pure fantasy.

Inverse Phase’s remix is the first in a series of remixes Jane In Space will be releasing over the next few weeks, culminating in The Remixes EP due out on December 15th. The Remixes EP gives a taste of things to come before Jane in Space’s new record, coming early next year.

Take a sonic journey with this glitchy house remix of 'Mental Abrasions' courtesy of Paul Feder, stepping out from behind the booth at the hippest parties in Brooklyn to produce this masterful remix that discovers bold new frontiers of this Jane In Space classic.

Paul Feder's remix is the second in a series of remixes Jane In Space will be releasing over the next few weeks, culminating in The Remixes EP due out on December 15th and available everywhere via Aion Records. It comes fresh off the heels of an Inverse Phase remix that was just as retro as this track is futuristic. The Remixes EP gives a taste of things to come before Jane in Space's sophomore offering, due out in the first half of 2018.
