"Cherokee Voices: A Spoken Soundtrack by the Trail of Tears Women" is based on the writings of Smoky Mountain patriarch Horace Kephart. Great-granddaughter Janice Kephart, a Pushcart Poetry nominee and spoken word artist, creates a historical poetic fiction which gives voices to the women of the Trail of Tears in the late 1830s upon their removal from their homes of 40,000 years in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina.  Smooth Jazz editor Art Jackson says of the album, a "seamless audio-visual experience" and by a multi-Grammy winning artist an "album whose sound is as big as a house, and the vocals incredible, and the story so well-executed and beautiful." ALBUM (PHYSICAL AND DIGITAL) AVAILABLE MARCH 26, 2018.

A young Cherokee princess prepares for battle as Georgian troops begin forcibly removing neighboring tribes from their home on the North Carolina side of the Great Smoky Mountains to Oklahoma. Calls of the wild, battle percussion, native american flutes, spanish-style guitar and a vocal poetic story bring her to life.
