For the past few years, on the same day, February 14th, I have been releasing "Slowlover" mixes that primarily explore very slow sounds from the broadly defined downtempo genre. Today marks the time for a change, and I present to you the first chapter of "OUTER SPICE." We start innocently, but as we venture further into the woods (or desert), the music reveals its various facets. Ultimately, each chapter will showcase different genres – from deep house/minimal to dub and ambient. The series' sounds will be unusual for clubs and require the listener's attention. With nearly 20 years of experience as a DJ, I will be presenting gems from my collection as well as new releases. The main focus of all chapters will be storytelling, forming the basis of my vision. Expect new chapters every month.

Regarding the "Slowlover" project, I'm not ending it; I'm just putting it on hold for a while. I will definitely come back to it.

Following INVŌKER’s ‘Superhero’, When We Dip XYZ is proud to present ‘The Chaos Inside’ from Imeïa, who has already been spotlighted on imprints such as Isolate, Frau Blau and Sum Over Histories. On this EP, the enigmatic producer blends impactful grooves, uncharacteristic delays, poignant textures and creative use of silence.

Things start off with ‘Le Pire Pour La Fin’, a deep cut which is led by a slow, drawn-out melody which recedes in favour of the bassline and noise-heavy plucks.

The eponymous ‘The Chaos Inside’ brings the energy levels a few notches up. The layered pad and choir initiate a progression of epic proportions over the simple, driving groove. The impacts, risers and glitches all accentuate this feeling of immensity.

On ‘Elegancia’, the doubled kicks and resounding vocals set the scene for the larger than life lead synth. A subtle acid touch on the bass completes the tune.

The last track, ‘Blue Romance’ displays the clearest vocals we’ve seen from Imeïa so far. The line ‘I don’t wanna be a fool, I just wanna be a tool’ is repeated throughout the intro and outro. A screaming guitar announces the highlight of the tune, with its uplifting bass pattern and toy-like percussions. An alternate dub mix is also available. Jacek's journey into music production began in 1998 when he discovered the game-changing sounds of Rebirth 338, Roland's TR-808 and TB-303. This sparked a lifelong passion for creating modern beats using virtual instruments. Seven years later, Jacek graduated with a Master's degree in Music Production in a Microsoft Windows environment.

His early career saw him releasing remixes for James Harcourt's Twisted Frequency, which were quickly snapped up by top DJs like Sasha, Digweed, Anthony Pappa, and Hernan Cattaneo. His Pure remix of Argentinian group Hawaii was a global hit, receiving heavy rotation from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo and Dave Seaman, who even included it on his iconic Renaissance Masters Series compilation.

In 2009, Jacek took his skills to the next level by collaborating with multi-instrumentalist Mr. Krzysztof Dąbrowski and delving into the deep house genre. But it wasn't until Maceo Plex released Jacek's track "New Tomorrow" on his renowned Ellum Audio label that his career truly took off.
