Amongst the 20 classics is Kenneth’s tune 'What's My Name (Album Disco Edit)' featuring speak from Danish actor Sofie Gråbøl. You’ll also find DJ Disse’s wonderful interpretation of ‘Walk On the Wild Side’ by Lou Reed, a cover that’s sure to set the mood.

Shelley Short’s ‘Coo Coo Bird’ remixed by Rødsten & Jesper Rummenigge is one of the compilation’s up-tempo tunes. Kenneth makes you sway right into ‘Rain’ by Cantoma – that might seem like an unpleasant thing... it’s really not!

‘Drømmen’ by the deceased extraordinary percussionist Jacob Andersen aka. Bongo Entp. is also included delivering splendid percussion as always, and a huge sounding brass section.

rain by including Frontera’s ‘Walking in the
 Rain’.

We’re happy to present the latest installment of the infamous Sunset Sessions compiled by our very own Kenneth Bager. This eleventh volume in the series is packed with new and sparkling material to greet the summer twilight and send you spinning into the night.

Kicking it off we have Be.Lanuit’s warm breeze of soul-infused Balearica by the title of ‘El Picador Telepathico’, featuring Danish guitarist Santino Surfers. Following up is the spiritually lounging ‘Eko Maina’ by chillout veteran Phil Mison aka Ambala feauturing beautiful Afro-Cuban vocals by Iyami Aje. And Ken Fan follows up with ‘Under The Moon’, a nocturnal trip-hop-inspired sound with gorgeous ghostly vocals by Vicky Kroon. Next up Colleen Murphy's Cosmodelica Remix of Jacob Gurevitsch 'Elevation In Minor, a true sunset gem.

We have some lovely sundrenched boogie from Willie Graff & Darren Eboli’s Tribeca Tapes-series, a luscious piece of jazzy chillout by Mike Salta & Mortale, a shuffling percussion dance from Subnesia, a twinkly 80’s inspired disco-thriller by newcomer Wille and much much more from the garden fresh catalogs of Music For Dreams.

This mix is a short introduction to some old favourites from my ever-swelling African Music archive. This one kicks off with a Libyan disco jam before heading South for a couple of rock tracks. Most notably South Africa for Letta Mbulu, showing off her incredible vocal range on 'Mahlalela', a track produced by the legendary trumpeter and producer Hugh Masakela (R.I.P). From there it's a short stop into some Ghanaian Hi-Life, including Pat Thomas, 'The Golden Voice of Africa' with 'Enye Woa'. Later in the mix there's a bit of exploration into the Nigerian Funk & Disco scene - that era in Lagos was bottomless-pit of heavy dancefloor-fillers and outrageous creativity. A personal favourite is 'Wake Up Your Mind' by Joni Haastrup, a rallying-cry for Black empowerment and a true African Anthem. Happy Listening.
