Finn Johannsen is a Berlin-based DJ, writer, and impresario at Berlin club Paloma, renowned for his encyclopedic knowledge of music and deep, eclectic selections that span disco, house, techno, reggae, and beyond. Active since the late 1980s, Johannsen has built a reputation for narrative-driven DJ sets that seamlessly connect musical histories, often highlighting overlooked gems and rare cuts. Beyond the decks, he is a respected music journalist and interviewer, contributing insightful commentary on dance music culture and its social contexts. His work, both as a selector and a writer, reflects a lifelong commitment to preserving and expanding the dialogue around underground music.

Manchester native Andi Hanley was for years one of the great things about NYC, charming, low-key, a great great DJ, he quietly was a graceful presence in the land of the overhyped and ego driven. For years Andi held down the music supervision for Rock Star games and was responsible for a lot of great music getting out to the gaming masses, Andi also was a vital member of Body and Soul, for years doing the warm up and setting the sound palette for Danny, FK, and Joe. Andi has since moved back to Manc, and is currently on the hunt for his own space to install his system and set up a proper party. (tell us when chief!) We are happy to have this great set from him, and we are also happy to have the great Disques Town drawing he did for us!

Prins Thomas, the man from Norway, has been DJ'ing producing and remixing at a steady pace since the late 90's. One of the more celebrated figures in contemporary dance music, T has come a long way from his start as a break dancer and musician in a range of bands. He runs several labels, most notably Full Pupp, has released several lps ( 2 solo, 2 with frequent collaborator Lindstrom ) has an extensive discography (understatement) and has been touring worldwide sharing extended dynamic sets that are an amalgamation of disco, house, cosmic, psychedelic and balearica. T is the biz, he keeps it deep, fresh and intimate. As you are reading this T is bringing his Orchestra - The Prins Thomas Orchestra - to Istambul for some live shows. There can't be many acts with as wide an appeal as Sheffield producer and artist Yarni. The late, great Andrew Weatherall was fond of dropping his tunes, Gilles Peterson and Luke Una are fans, and radio types Craig Charles and Huey Morgan are often known to slide one into their 6Music schedules.

He's just announced what he's calling his most ambitious project to date, "Anemoia," an album exploring the Greek concept of nostalgia for a time never known, collaborating with ten musicians and vocalists across ten tracks that weave disco, soul, jazz-funk, hip-hop and trip-hop into a thoroughly modern tapestry. "This isn't about recreating the past, but channeling its spirit into something new," he says.

It's set for an October release on Stanhope Records, with a string of teaser singles to keep an eye out for in the meantime. But us being the impatient types that we are, we persuaded him to take to the decks for a mix session right here, right now...

For the Finnish-born, San Francisco and Berlin-based DJ, producer and music curator, Janne Tavi it’s all about paying it forward “What good is music and the people behind it if it’s not being shared?” says Janne.

Born in Helsinki, Janne’s passion for music started early fueled in part by his synesthesia, a  condition causing people to perceive music in color. He spent a great deal of his youth in scouring Helsinki’s libraries and making sense of the colors. 

After being scouted by @ibadan while volunteering in a Helsinki nightclub, Janne moved to Berlin and found himself in a vibrant city, surrounded by a global artist roster and working alongside his childhood music idols – the legends of house and techno.

As his involvement with music deepened both in the studio and at Ibadan’s label HQ as an A&R, Janne’s musical aesthetic expanded beyond the limits of traditional genres. Rather than adhere to subjective categorizations that divide music, Janne always stays true to the vibe of any given room or occasion.

Janne found his calling in radio when he in 2021 launched his monthly London radio show, Badlands, focusing on connecting people with new talent, interviewing legends and paying tribute to its pioneers.

With his past collaborations and future releases with Kerri Chandler, Robert Owens, Fred P, Deetron and Cee ElAssaad, Janne is affirming his place as a torchbearer of the next generation. From his baptism by fire at his first ever club gig at Berghain/Panorama Bar to collaborations with legendary producers and now hosting his own radio show, Janne’s future bristles with opportunity.
