On the 30th of May 2022 Aio's new EP called "Cosmic Rage" will be released on the Cologne based label Jannowitz Records. The EP is a wild mix between Dark Disco and Melodic Techno and is topped off with a strong remix by the Brazilian producer K.A.L.I.L.. The track "Mystical Creatures" impresses with its energetic bassline, dark melodies and a great interlude. We’re happy to announce to familiar faces back to the mothership: Chloe Raunet aka C.A.R. has been a long time friend and made her first appearance on the label with Maceo Plex on “Mirror Me”. Dj and producer extraordinaire Patrice Bäumel certainly doesn’t need much introduction. “Four Down” shows the duo in a rowdy mood. There’s a very welcome punk-ish attitude to the song that is set to brush today’s polished dancefloors against the grain. Here’s what C.A.R. has to say in her own words: “Some collaborations are meant to be. I first met Patrice at Trouw over a decade ago and we instantly hit it off. When he sent me this idea back in lockdown, it wasn’t something I could come up with musically, but words came easy and the song wrote itself. Bouncing ideas back and forth through the ether doesn’t always work, but when you just get each other, distance doesn’t matter and stepping outside your comfort zone can bring about the best, most fun and spot-on results!”

Culminating this phenomenal year while adding weight to the label’s sterling reputation as one of the genre’s most respected homes for pioneering Techno music, VOLTA continues to go from strength to strength, attracting an endless wave of talent from around the globe. Following the release of their ‘Human Robot’ EP in August, our label head Victor Ruiz and his long-time friend and collaborator Alex Stein are back with another gripping induction to the VOLTA catalogue, this time with a very special single format via the enslaving ’New Generation’.
‘New Generation’ is a modern take on their historical and famous track ‘Generation’, which was originally released in 2012 and marked the start of their international careers. Stein and Ruiz serve a pacy, off-beat Techno cut flooded with robotic nuances and acidic tones, along with the iconic vocals that remain as compelling as they were on day one. A flawless fusion of commanding, propulsive percussion and captivating musical depth, its coarse sonics and rugged soundscapes create an eerily futuristic Techno piece, demonstrating how their timeless track can experience a rebirth while still staying true to it’s original message and energy.

The heavy hitting four track EP shines a light on Sangiuliano’s tight, thundering production skills. The hoover heavy lead track ‘Moon Rocks’ is packed with booming percussion, intricate synths and brooding crescendos.
