Here's a free treat for the holidays, with a special story behind it!

Me and my good friend Maarten van Bergen made a track for the Dutch fundraising event 3FM Serious Request. Its goal was to raise money for the battle against the death of children caused by diarrhoea (a consequence of poor hygiene in their environment). The three DJs participating got locked up in a glass house full of cameras for almost a week and ran their broadcast non-stop, without eating. Several students of the Mencia Sandrode high school in Zundert (where Maarten works as a teacher) set up their own local 48-hour broadcast (including a live webcam stream) to support Serious Request: Radio Delia (http://www.radiodelia.nl). Just like the DJs of the national event, the students did not eat and sacrificed a lot of sleep to keep it all up and running. Me and Maarten helped out by by joining them the second day and work on a special theme track for 18 hours straight, without sleep and food. The track could be purchased by the audience as a way to support Radio Delia and Serious Request. Well, I'm glad to report the action was a great success and we managed to bump up the total of donations for the event to €737,75! Much respect to the young students that pulled through; I could clearly see the last hours were truly tough for them!

As for the technical details of the track: we tried to give the song an accessible sound and still keep a bit of the Waterman craziness. Now that the national event has ended, me and Maarten have decided to offer it as a free download to the rest of the world! Enjoy, and happy holidays to you all!
