[ST004] Premis - Alumni EP (feat. Double Precision, Thrived & Sha Ru)

This mix is a nod to the late 90s / early 2000s German pop music scene, when a wave of UK trip hop and digital keyboard sounds swept through German mainstream Pop and underground productions. Many songs appear to be dark, mysterious and melancholic, some just went simplistic and glitchy - lyrics were often filled with pure consternation and thoughts about the 'futuristic' age. The mix also includes an unreleased track by myself (which is another homage to this era) and the super sweet Beatles cover by CandyFlip, not so German at all, but it just has to be there. Enjoy!

Trip-Pop from Germany 1996-2003 (I)

Ken Morioka's "Questions" album from 1994 boasts an array of beautiful and heart-melting pop songs, while one track clearly stands out: "Sumo". 
This song may set a slightly darker mood than the rest of the album, however it still manages to maintain that stripped-down EBM-Chicago-House feel. Here is an edit Quimbie made for you, combining little snippets of drums, spice, pads, and some blubber.
