Everybody loves Benny ill! 
Selector par excellence and well known veteran and favourite of the underground music scene. Benny remains on the forefront of dance music with recent releases on Blueberry Records, Sneaker Social Club, Hardline and plenty of new material and collaborations in production for future release. 
As a DJ Benny comes with an upfront and unreleased selection of his current choices and HP dubplates. Faithful to popularity Benny also continues to push the various sounds for which he is known such as "old skool" garage, vintage dub, dubstep new and old, house, techno, disco and underground dance classics.
 Benny ill has also been producing music for the past 20 years under many aliases including Horsepower Productions, High Plains Drifter, Dub War, Kid Deli, Mack One and Bill & Ben. He has worked on collaborations with some of the finest artists in london’s club music scene incuding Loefah, Mala, NType, DJ Hatcha, and Benton (BBS). Benny is a key member of the celebrated Horsepower Productions collective and his ongoing work as part of this continues to date, with new projects currently in progress. The last Horsepower album, entitled "Crooks, Crime and Corruption" was released to critical acclaim by Tempa Recordings, who also released the previous 3 albums "Quest for the Sonic Bounty", "To The Rescue" and "In Fine Style" - and many previous 12" releases dating back to 2001. One of the first DJ's to appear at the long running FWD>> night in London, and many times since at all the different venues since it’s foundation in 2001, Benny was also found on the line up of the legendary DMZ nights for which he has also played since the outset.  Having performed as a DJ in various guises since 1993, Benny has played in many countries of the world for both underground and commercial promotions at clubs, festivals and on the radio. Over the years he has performed hundreds of DJ and live sets, achieving a high record of critical acclaim and a trusted reputation for his unique approach to music and genre selection. At one time or another he has played at most of London’s famous and iconic venues, including Ministry of Sound, Heaven, Fabric and Plastic People to name but a few..  Horsepower Productions are known for their originality and unique style, and have inspired many with their groundbreaking approach to music creation. Many credit them along side El-B, Zed Bias and others for the creation of the genre known as Dubstep and were an important element in the establishment of the seminal Tempa Recordings imprint. Their debut LP/CD ‘In Fine Style’ was released in November 02 and is still available, noted as a classic by many scene commentators and other influential artists. Many of their early 12” releases (now mainly out of press) are highly sought after, and have been included on compilations representing the origins of the dubstep scene. They have consistently delighted and surprised critics with their constantly innovative approach to production. What is most apparent when you hear their music is a diversity of influence, their inspiration drawn from a cross section of music culture including UK Garage, Techno, House, Reggae, Hip Hop, Jungle, Funk and Soul as well as a particular interest in films and cinema.

HORSEPOWER GREATEST MIXES

Benny ILL Horsepower Productions

East London-born Ramsey, grew up on a musical diet of soul, rare groove and jazz funk. 
He first took to the turntables in 1985, and was featured on Jonathan Ross’s Channel 4 music show Soul Train. 
Ramsey’s djing career started off as a hobby, but stepped up a gear when pirate stations launched in his local area Hackney. Ramsey began spinning on radio stations Defection, & Rush FM, where he was amongst the likes of Shabba D, Mixmaster Max, MC Wallace & Goldie, who would come and MC for him during his sets. Ramsey returned to his soulful roots and began to spin US garage, having decided that the increasingly tight jungle scene was hard to break into. He was one of the first DJs to play garage on a Saturday morning show on Rush FM, testing early scene-shaping tracks.
The show got plenty of positive response, and Ramsey started getting bookings to play garage at Roast (along side Norris Windross, Matt Jam Lamont and Karl Brown) as well as underground garage haunts, such as east London’s Dungeons. Ramsey met future djing partner DJ Fen, through a friend on an off chance meeting in a local phone shop. Ramsey invited Fen on to Freek FM (his current station at the time) . This was to be the start of the internationally known duo ‘Ramsey & Fen’.
They began playing out at the station’s own night Freek in the Manor, as well as, the majority of the UK garage scene’s founding clubs like La Cosa Nostra, Zoo’s Lord of the Underground, Rhythm Promotions’ The Breakfast Club, Sun City, Numb Nums (as residents) and Twice as Nice. Ramsey & Fen decided to leave Freek FM to form their own pirate station London Underground. It was through London Underground they got their first remix work, when the Trinity/SOUR record label asked Ramsey & Fen to provide garage mixes of Kim Mazelle’s Big Baby and Quality which quickly became underground anthems. Ramsey & Fen always retained their love of radio, and in the late 90’s the pair guested on legal stations and have delved into music TV having filmed an appearance on a Wise Buddha pilot production.
Ramsey & Fen stepped up a gear further more, kicking off with the excellent single Favourite Part of Me (featuring Maxwell D) which was soon signed onto the massive BMG label. This wasn’t the first time they found themselves talking to senior executives at a major label, Ramsey & Fen’s two-step classic anthem Love Bug was picked up by Nebula, a sub division of EMI Records. Although major success seemed to come easy to the duo, they still worked on their underground label BUG Records linking up with up and coming artists to produce anthem after anthem.
As a club DJ, Ramsey has played across the globe, reaching Japan, Switzerland, Amsterdam (playing at the massive Dance Valley Festival) Tenerife, Miami, Germany, Turkey, Grease, Majorca, and of course Ibiza and Ayia Napa in Cyprus. Ramsey was an innovator in Ayia Napa, alongside Nick Power and Steve Jackson of Kiss 100, where they pioneered the playing of underground garage. This innovative move radically shifted the club scene there, and shaped the place as one of the top partying destinations in Europe. Having developed the clubbing scene on the southern Greek part of Cyprus, Ramsey then turned his attention to the northern Turkish side of the island, where he, along with fellow DJ J Junior, formed Cyprus Music Festivals. This was another ground-breaking development for the dance scene in Cyprus, with ongoing annual events, such as The Mid Summer Ball, which was the first series of events playing pure house, garage, and old skool classics.
Ramsey is currently working on many more exciting projects For his new record label He started a couple of years ago in 2020 called back 2 bump records where he’ll be working alongside some friends and new projects bringing in younger artists for the Label also currently have been playing for the last two years on the Almighty Centreforce with his regular show fully loaded on Tuesdays 2- 4PM

From listening to house, rave, breakbeat, jungle, hardcore, techno & trance throughout the 90's, it wasn't until speed garage found a regular place in my headphones and HiFi around 1996 that a focus on underground house & garage started to emerge.
Listening to Tuff Jam on Kiss FM, hearing friends such as Leighton H-Trax make mixtapes and spin garage tunes weekly were all big influences in finally pushing other genres to the wayside.  Discovering the sounds of Todd Edwards was a pivotal moment prompting the purchase of a pair of 1210s in the Millennium and a journey into vinyl quickly became an obsession.
Avidly collecting tracks I heard my friends play years earlier and religiously recording EZ shows for daily listening to and from work, the scene had started to split and a new bumpy nuskool garage sound emerge from 2001.  From here, I found close friends and producers alike across forums and pirate stations such as Freeze FM, Subjam and Hyperadio as a regular listener and at legendary events such as 4by4 and Z-Uncut.  
With a transition to CDJs and digital, uploading hundreds of oldskool garage vinyl to YouTube as ReleaseThaPressure in 2009 proved popular, although only approx 40 of the most popular remain due to a fit of pique.  The vinyl acquisition kept the postman on first name terms for years as my collection expanded, fuelling weekend long mix sessions with friends and infrequent gigs at a local pre-club bars.
Sporadically releasing mixes including the Garage Bass House series GBH Vol 1-8 on SoundCloud/Mixcloud up to 2015 before going full circle back to vinyl, I started posting uploads to Instagram in 2016. Here I found like-minded enthusiasts and connoisseurs starting to gather, all eager to talk and post about oldskool garage vinyl like forums from years before.  
Several thousand uploads, a few mixes here and there, and many hundreds of new additions to my vinyl archive later, you will find I am still happiest rifling through crates, chatting about unreleased gems and sending clips to mates of that tune I couldn't remember last week.

I grew up around music where my Dad and Brother were both in sound systems, I started messing around with music in 1994 and that's when I got my first set of Decks. A couple of guys from school and I set up a 'sound' called Thunderforce and we played Swing, Soul, Ragga and Jungle. We played at lots of house parties and venues - alongside the Heartless Crew on many occasions. In 1995 I got a chance to MC with DJ Fax on Rude FM 104.3 and alongside MC's Ranking and Spee. In that year I got a chance to work in Kid Andy's studio where I got to make my first Drum and Bass track that was released on the "Upfront Records" label. In 1996 Lady Legs introduced me to the new sound that was around, called 'Garage'. Freek was the main station that I listened to and of course I would always lock into the shows of Maddness and EZ. I was lucky that a mate of mine asked me to MC for him on his show on Mission FM, that was the great DJ Colin I. We built up a good show and fan base and alongside the Lady Legs we became the "Fantastic Three". I joined Vocal Fusion where I got advice from MC Creed and he put me in touch with PSG who introduced me to Eli. From here things moved very quickly up the ladder....Eli and I made our first track "Pump", which got signed to an underground record label. After that we did "It's not right" using the Whitney Houston vocals, which got playlisted on Kiss FM. All of this led us to quite a bit of remix work, In 2001 we were very lucky to work with Colour Girl to record "Mas Que Nada", which entered the National Top 40 music chart. We also released a mixed CD called "Garage Anthems Summer 2K". Then we collaborated with JJ who owns Southside Records to make the "Storm on the Southside" CD. Eli and I then started the "Marvelis" Records label that I'm currently running. You can check out some of our latest UK Garage releases on Bandcamp and on Spotify.

Founded in 2016, 2-Steppers are the first French community dedicated to UK Garage and 2-Step music composed of 4 members. 
We have a bi-Monthly residency show on Rinse FM France where we invite UK Garage guests from all around the world. 
During  2022 we launched a UK Garage residency club night at La Rotonde Stanlingrad in Paris where we bring our top UK Garage acts and promote UK Garage in France.

Introducing the 8th instalment - Dice 

I started out in 1996 in my bedroom with a pair of soundlab belt drive turntables mixing jungle drum and bass and buying vinyl from Blackmarket Records. In early 1997 I started playing house and garage and buying vinyl from Spin City & Uptown Records. 

By 1999 I had a weekly set on Lush FM every Sunday morning with DJ Excalibur, and by December 2001 I played at Smoove Ministry Of Sound and at the Moist Weekender at the Montparnasse Tower, Paris.
I have played at clubs & nights Club Liberty, Smoove, One love, Pure Temptation, Key Of Life & Promised Land. Bagleys, Egg, Lightbox, Gass Club, Opera House, Scala & internationally Amsterdam, Paris & Ibiza.

I played on pirate radio from 1999 on Lush, Rinse, Freek, Passion & Freeze FM also on BBC 1xtra in 2005.

Since then I have been on various radio stations & events.

Dice UK Garage Mix #8

Frankie Magic has been spinning UK Garage and House for over a decade. It all began when he was 10, starting off with a pair of belt drive decks  and a small stack of funky house records. From those early days, Frankie has developed a passion for music that has grown and evolved with him throughout the years.

He first discovered UKG & Garage house through the likes of DJ EZ and his Pure Garage CD series, as well as through forums and communities online such as Uptown and 2SG. He was immediately drawn to this genre and started incorporating it into his own sets, frequently buying records online through Discogs, eBay, or just digging through record shops for hours on end.

Frankie Magic has played on some of the most respected radio stations in the UK, including Desire, Divine Radio, d3ep, and Deja Vu. He has also performed at various venues and events, and has gained a reputation for playing lesser-known tracks which went under the radar all those years ago.

Fast forward to the present day and Frankie still continues to dig out and play those hidden gems, but at the same time incorporates newer tracks from upcoming artists. This mix is exactly that - a healthy mix of UK Garage from the past and present. Sit back, turn up the volume and enjoy!

Leandro Miranda Ling AKA Hitch.93 is a UK Garage producer based in Santiago de Chile. 
He began his career in 2015 but his name began to sound in the underground of England in early 2020. From there he has shown a solid trajectory and with great international projections. 
Hitch.93 has released music on Vinyl and digital, by different English labels and has collaborated with various artists in remixes, compilations and radio programs

J-Dubz is a Bedford based UK Garage DJ who first found love with this distinctive underground sound around 1998. 

A classmate was listening to something called ‘Garage Nation’ on his Walkman, and wanting to fit in, I pretended I knew exactly what Garage music was and asked to borrow the tape… As soon as I heard Mr Blakey announce ‘Introducing Timmy Magic, from London’s Dreem Teem’ I was instantly hooked… It was like nothing like I’d ever heard before. Music with such groove, swing, soul, energy… I knew I’d stumbled across something special. After hearing Blakey, all I wanted to do was be an MC and would spend hours writing lyrics. However, there was a shift when a friends brother bought some belt drive Soundlab turntables and I tried to learn to DJ for myself. Once I’d caught the DJ bug, writing lyrics stopped and my energy (and money) went into learning the craft and buying my own turntables & vinyl. After a brief stint away from the scene during the grime era, my passion reconnected during the ‘Lost Years’ where garage was yet again a small underground scene, but very musically focused & led by some of UKG’s old school pioneers. 

Flash forward ‘’some’’ years and I’ve been lucky enough to represent brands such Str8 GarageHouse, Give Me Garage, MC Kie Presents and the mighty Garage Nation, the brand that made it all happen for me! This genre means the world to me, it’s opened so many doors and introduced me to some incredible people, as well as put me on stages with some people I consider idols 🙏🏻

Huge thanks to JP for reaching out and asking me to feature on this amazing collaboration with an incredible array of DJ’s & proper connoisseurs! What some of these guys have forgotten about Garage, I’m yet to learn!👌🏻 Garage music is alive and thriving thanks to an influx of new talented producers! I started DJing at the age of 16 and worked in my local record shop in Dagenham called Sound Station. 
Started playing on pirate radio such as Flava and Temptation FM and later went on to work at Dj Empire. 
Recently become the top vinyl shotter on Instagram 😂😂😂

I am now the proud owner of Fresh Milk Records with a catalogue of releases featuring Dem 2, Karl Brown, Ray Hurley,  Mystic Matt, Sovereign, James Lavonz and many more.

DJ Logic UK Garage Mix 17 / 30

DJ’ing started for me when I got my first turntables at the age of 14 in exchange for a Playstation. After being heavily influenced by cd's that my mum used to bring home which included Tuff Jam(Karl Tuff Enough Brown & Matt Jam Lamont, masters of the UK house & Garage scene)and Speed Garage Anthems cd’s I figured that this was a hobby I would show a great passion for. At the age of 19 I started to get involved with the Birmingham club scene and eventually obtained bookings at Hidden, Moon Lounge and Subway City to name a few. I also had chance to play on the pirate radio station I listened to when growing up, Silk City FM. A goal which always stuck in the back of my mind. After a good three years of spinning at clubs around Birmingham, the scene started to die down a little. It was then that I decided there wasn't much out there in terms of dance music with the boom of electro and fidget house taking over. 

After a three year break from being involved with the club scene I decided it was time to pull out the headphones again and get back on board. Playing a style consisting of US/UK House & Garage and Deep House I managed to build up my confidence again by securing residencies at 2:31, Bushwackers and FACE, all very successful parties in Birmingham. I carried on dj’ing in clubs until my early 30’s until I decided enough was enough. Nowadays I’m just a very avid lover and collector of different styles of house and garage and sometimes when I get time I love to whack a mix together for people to enjoy 😁 My passion for house and garage music will always be strong.

Louie Donavan UK Garage Mix 18 / 30

Luke Harmony found a taste for being a DJ in his teens, back in 99’, through his passion with vinyl, rooted in his love for Garage, enjoying the diversity and all round energy that the music had to offer. Nothing quite came close to the sound, listening to the likes of Tuff Jam and DJ EZ, and pirate radio stations such as Upfront 99.3 FM. He enjoyed nothing more than sifting through record stores around his hometown, London, always present in Independance Records in Lewisham, known for its rich Grime history, City Sounds, Uptown Records & Big Apple, to name a few.
Over the years he showed real dedication to the art, honing his skills holding residencies and playing locally in bars, clubs and private affairs throughout London. A turning point, and appreciation from the music world, came when the ever popular, Kiss 100 FM, announced Luke “Agency DJ Of The Year” in 2008. 
Being judged by top DJ’s, Steve Smart, DJ Swerve, and hosts Ricky & Melvin the decision was unanimous, baffling their programming director with his technical ability in competition. Luke Harmony was swiftly flown to Ibiza and had a one-off showcase on Kiss 100 on his return. Building on his versatility within all genres over the years and humble ability to seamlessly merge any type of sound together with perfect synchronisation, he then started and run his own club night in 2008, “Love & Harmony” with partner Mark Love playing the best in House & Garage. Together they spread L&H’s mantra “It’s All About The Music” from London to Nottingham, with sell out nights and a unique twist on clubbing, the brand quickly became known throughout. Luke enjoyed some time on various pirate radio stations over the years like Select FM & Hype Radio before hanging up the headphones outside of the ‘bedroom’ for his main career elsewhere in 2012.
UK Garage has always been at the core of Luke and he has always kept more than an ear to the ground, collecting so much more than he could ever listen to. He’s also spent well over a decade buying and selling vinyl to hungry addicts, all the while expanding his own collection. In 2018 he decided to get back to his roots and concentrate more on what he loved, buying 1210’s and getting back to DJing mainly UKG. 
Luke has DJ’ed alongside many of his own personal favourite producers and DJ’s, playing beside DJ EZ and MJ Cole, The Dreem Teem, Pied Piper, DJ Luck & MC Neat & many others, even a back to back with Justin Wilkes. He’s played in many top clubs like Ministry Of Sound, Pacha and London’s O2, to name but a few, and untold underground hotspots. But the all-round connoisseur is happiest just vibing to whoever will listen to him playing, even if just on an Instagram live!

To introduce myself, I'm DJ NJ and this is a little Intro about how my love for UKG took off. 

Back when I was growing up I would always hear great sets played by some amazing DJ's and MC's on the likes of Ice FM, Passion FM, Freak FM and a whole host of more especially the London based stations, this took me on my musical journey into collecting music. 

My main genre is UKG, I adore the classics THE Underground, the stuff you won't get on your average garage night or club night. UkG is so much more than just music it is a passion of mine and collecting vinyl is what I enjoy most. I also love Jungle/DnB, RnB along with more genres, and I'm a very versatile DJ. 

I've played on multiple mainstream underground stations along with club nights and residencies.

Owen James with a throwback UK Garage mix, taking you back to the Golden era of UK Garage when DJs at clubs such as Gass club, Koo Klub, and Colosseum were dropping music like this every Saturday night. The scene was still in its infancy but rapidly growing into what turned into a hugely popular underground scene.

Fresh off the back of his debut world tour, selling out shows in Tokyo, Kyoto, Taipei, Seville, Wellington, Auckland, Istanbul, Paris, Chicago & New York Peaky Beats is excited to see what’s next on his musical journey.

Now having just released PBR007 with Ollie Rant along with starting 3 other sub-labels and an ever-growing label family including Eliza Rose, Highrise, Papa Nugs, Stones Taro and more…

Peaky Beats UK Garage Mix 23 / 30

Growing up in London, my introduction to UK Garage came around the age of 15, coinciding with my acquisition of my first set of decks. Those were the days of exploring record shops in pursuit of both the freshest white labels and the more widely embraced mainstream releases that were cherished by everyone.
As I stumbled upon establishments like Hard To Find Records and Reckless Records, both second-hand havens, my quest evolved to uncover tracks that had eluded me, pieces that had slipped under my radar, and records that had been unleashed upon the world years before my initiation into the Garage scene. It was during these moments that my affection for vinyl began to flourish.
As the UK Garage scene gradually faded around the end of my college days and the commencement of a full-time job, my enthusiasm naturally dwindled, prompting me to tuck away my cherished records into storage. The prospect of parting with my collection, as so many around me were doing, never truly appealed to me – I had invested too much time and sentiment in curating a collection that held a personal resonance.
After a period of settling down and relocating, a pivotal moment arrived in 2018 when my wife suggested I fetch my vinyl from their dormant state in storage, even if only for a few months. The notion struck a chord, and I embarked on a Google-fuelled mission to track down vintage UKG tracks that had slipped by me. That's when I stumbled upon Discogs – a treasure trove for music enthusiasts like myself. The exhilarating search through sellers' collections, guided by the insights of YouTube uploaders, reignited the passion within me. Since that day, my decks have established a permanent residence in my home.
 
Amidst the pandemic, I secured a weekly spot on Crate Digs, an established online radio platform. Additionally, I shared intermittent mixes on MixCloud and engaged in live streams via Facebook. Through these endeavours, I've had the pleasure of connecting with remarkable individuals within the scene.

Bio:

I’ve always been in love with music and involved in some way, shape or form. In the 90s I was into UK Garage and hip hop in a big way. I played on a pirate radio station in Wolverhampton called Frontline FM every Saturday for a good few years with some amazing DJs and MCs - DJ EJ, x5dubs, LX, Spitholic and Bubbla MC. 

After taking a break from the scene in the early 2000s, I decided to start producing back in 2017. I've spent a lot of time learning my trade and getting my sound but it feels like it's starting to click. I haven't moved onto digital mixing yet but still like a mix on vinyl.

Big shout to DJ JP for getting me on board with this project, it's a privilege to be amongst so many top DJs.

Footy mad QPR fan I first started realising music was a big part of my life when My Mum bought me Michael Jackson’s Bad album when i was small That progressed on to the Hip Hop and Rap music scene as well as Hardcore to Jungle Drum & Bass and eventually House & Garage Since deciding to push my career in the UK Garage scene I’ve been really fortunate to have been a part of some really big events in clubs all over London and outside London I’m also a Resident Dj for the ever growing Garage Hub which I am very proud of!

DJ Vital started DJing in 1996. Influenced by the likes of Bobby & Steve, Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson and Tuff Jam he developed his own style playing US / UK Garage and Soulful House. DJ Vital has played at venues such as Ministry Of Sound, Herbal, Neighbourhood and 93 Feet East to name a few. He had radio shows on House FM and Rinse FM plus many more. He took a break from DJing from 2009. Almost a decade later after missing playing the music he loves, he set up an Instagram page (@housegarageclassics) posting up clips to showcase his vinyl collection.

Well the musical journey started with an amp & tuner my parents got me one Christmas. I must have been 9-10. Living in West London, we were totally spoilt with music from all over the world. Reggae, Jazz, Soul, then discovered the pirates, house, hardcore, jungle then house and garage (It always was and always will be that for me, the UKG & garage house name tag came much much later for me) I started DJ’ing in 98 when I was 15. My first job used to pay £30 a week. Worked in Shepherds Bush Station before school every morning. Pay day Saturday and I used to jump on the train up to Edgware Road mainly, Spin City was my go to, as well as uptown and blackmarket now and again. Inevitably coming home with a bag of tunes and an empty pocket. 
Played on Transmission 1 around 99 used to do a Saturday Midday slot which I loved but I never really pursued the DJ’ing too much though, too busy getting high and raving. Gass club, Camden Palace, Club space as we knew it, EC1, Colly, ministry & Bagleys to name but a few, and yeah before you do the math, we was raving at 15. Us young West London boys used to get about. Got ourselves into some proper scrapes along the way too! Didn’t matter how much money we had, as long as we had dough to get in and clobber to wear we was there every week. Good times. Thankfully we weren’t always brassic 😆. We would rave to House&Garage mainly, Oldschool hardcore & jungle as well. It was all about the music & having a good time. 
Family man & grafter these days and as ever music obsessed. Luckily managed to keep all my tunes from back then, had other little phases in between the original ukg era and now, electro, deephouse, funky house all had their time but I never went off the original garage sound. It stood the test of time and come 2019-20 we witnessed this mad resurgence which I fell into once again. Buying tunes again, filling the gaps of what I missed and tbh a lot of what I didn't even know back then. I’ve even gone way back past when I even started DJing. The discovery over the last 3 years of oldschool, going all the way back to 92-93 has been mad. Its almost limitless the amount of quality music that is out there still to be discovered, resurfaced, that's without all the new and upcoming producers. I started a once a month show on Laylow in 2019 when they came back on. its like my therapy session, once a month I get out and do my thing for a few hours. Time is not in abundance in my life, so when I do a recorded mix its usually off the cuff and sporadic. This one is no exception. Its all up to date new school, Although I recorded it around a year ago now. Its a mixed bag of housier bits, some lovely steppers and some lovely limited edition bits. Big up for taking the time to listen. Hope you enjoy and big up JP for having me as a part of this special series. Trust me I know first hand how much graft he put in. ✌️

OK, so here’s me ... 
Started  my love of UK Garage from 1997 when flipping burgers at Mac Donald’s.  My pals at the time introduced me to a Sun City tape tape - Booker T and MC Creed and I was hooked from the first track. 

My local night club was just starting to play some garage on Monday night 50p a pint “oi oi” but it t wasn’t quite what I had head on that tape pack the previous year, so I then discovered a Garage Nation flyer Easter Special at the Club Colosseum, Vauxhall. Me and a few pals went, as we were queuing in the long line I heard the bass rumble of Buddy X by the dream team, I ran up the stairs feeling a little out of my comfort zone being in South London but I was there for the music and will never forget the rush of a night full of garage music. 
Fast forward to 1999 and I hadn’t missed a single Garage Nation, going to Colly on other nights - Delight FM launch Party, Inspiration, Exposure and the weekly Liberty. Garage Nation then moved clubs in the year 2000 and it's never been the same since in my opinion!
2001 I started my pirate radio work, Temptation FM in Cambridge with about 3 listeners and swiftly moved on to London's Subjam FM where I held the Thursday 4-6PM drive time show and loved it! Subjam was a platform for people like me who wanted to show  London a different side of UK Garage, not just the commercial side that was now mainstream but keeping it underground. Subjam had some great Djs that went on to have amazing DJ and production careers. 
I had my monthly night 'Intimacy' where I booked all the big Garage acts at the time, EZ, Heartless, Norris Da Boss Windross, Da Click, it was an honour to book the likes of Martin Larner who I had met from the nights at club Colly. One of our best Night's was was myself Djing with Sparks and Kie, a recording that I have uploaded on here. Check it out. And one of my proudest nights was when I teamed up with Garage Nation for a new year special. You couldn't move that night!  Ram Jam to say the least! 
2007 saw the end of Intimacy and my career as a DJ in the club scene and Radio, my first son was on the way and I wanted to be there for and with him. I hope one day he follows my footsteps (although not with the music I hear him listening too!) Now I have 2 sons and another one the way, I have picked up the headphones again and am collecting records once more. I will every now and then drop a mix and upload here. I will also be digging out the old tapes, mini discs and Ds to upload.
