I first discovered the music of Cat Stevens when I was in high school after watching the 1971 dark comedy "Harold and Maude." Stevens' expert style of storytelling through words and music captivated me and I became a devoted fan shortly thereafter.

The song "Trouble" plays during a dramatic, emotional scene at the end of the film where there is no dialogue, allowing the music to propel the narrative forward with it's bittersweet lyrics and soaring melodies.

Over the past year or so, given what we've all been through, I often found myself coming back to this song. It's message is simple yet timeless and has something, I think, everyone can relate to.

One of my favorite jazz tunes from one of my favorite holiday specials "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!" 

This version also contains two short pieces featured in the animated special. The first is a piece originally written for solo flute titled "Breathless," which serves as the introduction to the Great Pumpkin Waltz. The second is a short piece which was originally used in the episode when all the kids are trick or treating appropriately titled "Trick Or Treat."

Midnight Breakfast

In November of 2018 my brother and I moved into an apartment in the small city of Melrose, Massachusetts. Sitting just about 10 miles outside of Boston, it's a surprisingly easy place to miss. Interstate 93 snakes down from the New Hampshire border to Bean-town and narrowly misses Melrose on its way.

From the time we moved in until the time we moved out one year later, we shared some laughs, had a few fights, and learned a lot about ourselves. On one of the last nights before we moved out, I sat down at my keyboard and came up with a short piano riff. I wanted to write something that would sum up our time living together. Something that was simple, yet memorable that would remind me of all the good times we shared in that cozy little apartment.

I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed writing and recording it!
