Dieser Sommer lässt sich Zeit, ist für seine endgültige Ankunft noch nicht bereit. Zwischendurch lässt er sich blicken, nur um dann im Donnergrollen abzurücken. Dieses hin und her, macht es uns Menschen doch recht schwer. Wollen mit einem Wassereis am Strand liegen und uns mit dem Wellen vor und zurück wiegen. Doch so ganz ist es noch nicht gegeben, jedoch ist es auch erfrischend mit den ganzen Regenbögen. Geben wir dem Sommer noch etwas Zeit, dann ist auch er für uns vollends bereit. 

Der heutige KataHaifisch Podcast entstammt der kreativen Kombination von VIDA DIVA. Hinter diesem Pseudonym verbirgt sich der musikalische Zusammenschluss von Wilma Vida und Giovanna. Gemeinsam haben sie ein Downtempo, Deep- und Afrohouse Set aufgenommen, welches sich zwischen gemütlichen 95-100 BPM bewegt. 
Bei diesem Podcast handelt es sich darüber hinaus um ein ungewöhnlich langes Exemplar, mit einer gesamt Spiellänge von knapp dreieinhalb Stunden. Dabei entwickelt sich das Set über die Zeit, wenn die Grundstimmung auch gleichbleibend ist. Percussivelemente hofieren fröhliche Melodien und ausgefallene Vocals. In ihrer Gesamtheit zaubern sie ihren Hörern ein Lächeln ins Gesicht und transportieren die warme Sonne Südamerikas in die dankbaren Herzen.

Bei diesem ungewöhnlich ausgedehnten KataHaifisch Podcast handelt es sich um ein Live-Recording von einer Mysticcreatures Tanzveranstaltung. Am 24.09.2022 wurden die beiden Musikschaffenden firgun & Heyoka zu einer Party der Berliner VA-Reihe eingeladen. Insgesamt 4 Stunden und 20 Minuten spielten sich die beiden in die Herzen und das Gedächtnis der Gäste. Bei einer solch umfassenden Reise durch die Sphären des Downtempo Genres ist musikalisch gesehen alles in diesem Set enthalten. Passagenweise wird es aufbrausend und energetisch, dann mal wieder nachdenklich und melancholisch. Zeitweise wandelt sich die Stimmung hin zu einer kindergleichen Leichtigkeit und wohlwollenden Unbeschwertheit.

DJ Marvhell (also known as Pierre) is a long time member of PlayAlchemist. He is from Montreal, Canada and is a member of our core build team and part of our beautiful alchemist family. He played this set he created in our lounge on Tuesday at 11pm-1am. 

Here are some words from him:
"Being part of the PlayAlchemist family is an ongoing experience. We communicate through many WhatsApp groups, and one of them is “PlayAlchemist Integration” aims to reconnect once a month in order to share our experience in integrating our Burn into our daily lives and also to create intentions for the Burn to come.

During our March 2023 call, I expressed my desires and intentions to spin more often (as a DJ). And Burning Man, as a majestic generator of synchronicity that amplifies our intentions, has given me 5 mind-blowing opportunities to spin. So I played on Porta Party art car, Orgy Dome, Fluffy the Cloud twice (with El Pulpo Magnifico) and PlayAlchemist Lounge.

I share this PlayAlchemist set, performed in the incredible living room, with certain vulnerability because I created it in memory of our brother, Blake. The set has an ecstatic twist that begins at 88 BMP and ends at 127.  It creates a journey with different emotions in honor of this incredible man who touched me with his incredible generosity.

That morning, the little witch woke up from the pleasant sound of the singing birds in her forest.  With her eyes half-open and still feeling drowsy from a good night’s sleep, her heart suddenly skipped a beat from excitement when she realized it was the summer solstice today.  She got up from her fern bed and nimbly climbed into the tallest tree of the forest, where she arrived just in time to witness the glorious midsummer sunrise, while all the birds around her were singing their most beautiful song.  All of a sudden she got in a flying mood which was quite strange as witches only fly once a month (on the full-moon day) while that day it was new moon.  Anyway, she surrendered to her deeper instincts and flew away into the unknown, simply following her inner compass into South-Eastern direction.  After a flight of several hours, she gently touched down near a crystal-clear lake in the middle of a huge forest at the foot of a range of snow-capped mountains.  To her surprise, she was welcomed by none less than 8 other witches.  It was the largest gathering she had ever seen and she found out that the other participants were coming from all over the globe, some of them as far away as North Africa and Central Asia.  The witches had some fun comparing the great variety of different colors of their skin, hair and eyes.  The nice thing about the witches’ community is that all members are treated as equals, even the young girls of less than 150 years of age.  The elders still remember the days that they were still confined to only one corner of the world, but now they can get in touch with witches from all over the planet, and they can share their secret recipes and spells.  The witches have become much more efficient in protecting mother earth since they started getting in touch with witches from faraway places.
After a while, it dawned upon them that the little witch was the only one who was pregnant and of course the other women got curious about the father of the unborn baby witch.  When the petite girl revealed to her sisters witch that the father was a 2m40 giant wizard from the African rainforest, there was an eruption of joy among the women.  It was the very first time that witches were mixing blood with wizards from another continent and they all felt that this was the way to go… and they sensed the intermixing would make the community of witches stronger than ever, giving them even more hope they would one day be strong enough to make mother earth thrive again …
