Everything In Its Right Place - Solo

An original composition for Kody B. Lucas, a talented saxophonist who succumbed to brain cancer in 2012. Kody was an extremely bright and positive person whose spirit touched everyone fortune enough to come into contact with him.
This tune - part one in a currently unfinished suite about Kody - was inspired by his tattoo: a cancer survivor ribbon with phoenix wings.  It tells the story of a noble phoenix whose body disintegrates before his rebirth from the ashes of his former shell. On this raw, unmastered recording of its world premiere, "Life" is performed on a soprano saxophone owned by Kody bestowed onto the composer several months before his passing.
