the long anticipated collaboration between world reknowned rap duo the 49ers and Digable Planets member Cee knowledge aka the Doodlebug culminated in this Marchitect produced track called "what can i say" originally recorded circa 2017 was never released for some odd reason! we are going to fix that now by exclusively releasing it to Soundcloud and hopefully the wait was worth it and you like the song!!

What Can I Say ft. the 49ers X Cee Knowledge

Jas Mace, pronounced Jace Mace, began mastering his rhyming skills in 1988, which many refer to as the adolescent stage of Hip Hop. After purchasing Kool G. Rap and Polo’s certified classic Road to Riches, Jas Mace was inspired to sit down and write his first rap song, ultimately paving the way for what has become a remarkable journey and display of sacrifice and persistence.

A significant turning point in Jas Mace’s life was when he met his partner in rhyme, Marchitect, at a little league baseball game. Through this newfound friendship, Jas Mace was introduced to Marchitect’s older brother Grouchy Greg Watkins, co-founder and CEO of allhiphop.com. Marchitect and Jas Mace became collectively known as the 49ers and began recording numerous basement demos. As the 49ers displayed their creativity and dedication, Grouchy Greg, who had his own group at the time, decided to mastermind a Hip Hop conglomerate called The Outfit. At this point, under the tutelage of Grouchy Greg and Marchitect, Jas Mace began producing his own beats first experimenting with the Ensoniq EPS +. The Outfit had much success with their first independent release titled Soundtrack to Life. Their first single, “Beauty of the Week,” spent 13 weeks on the college radio charts. Many reviews wrote with high regards about a group from Delaware with great potential to emerge from the Underground. However, due to unfortunate events, The Outfit was dismantled, but the 49ers kept on honing their skills as true emcees and producers.

The 49ers have found much international success, touring the globe and collaborating with producers and emcees on just about every continent. They’ve officially released six albums and have been featured on many more projects. Their most successful song “Imagine” was featured on Re;plus’ album called Everlasting Truth and spent more than two weeks at #1 on Japan’s iTunes Hip-Hop charts . The 49ers wrote and produced Portobello Film Festival award winning documentary “Guilty or Innocent of Using the N Word,” and also provided the opening theme song for the popular Japanese animation series “Danganronpa: The Animation.” Most recently, The 49ers were featured on Banvox’s latest album and even toured Japan performing at the country’s largest festival – Fuji Rock. Jas Mace’s song “We Gon Turn It Out” was also featured as soundtrack to a Sonos advert broadcasted on all the international media outlets (web, TV, and radio). Jas Mace is currently in the beginning stages of completing his first solo album, which is currently untitled.
