025 - No other mix CD out has made me want to wake up to it as much as this one. Think slowly rising from a dream/hangover with the best sound possible and that's about it. Both discs on Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure open with absolutely gorgeous tracks, Gus Gus's 'Believe' being an example of this. Furry Phreak's 'Soothe (Chicane Jazz)' dives deeper into the sound before the cd moves on to intelligent breaks, early trance and climaxes in what must be one of the most beautiful electronic tracks ever made... Hybrid's Symphony. This isn't just music you would wake up too, it's so good, you'd probably happily die to it as well. Another CD which raises the bar and takes it's own thrown on the Classic Mix CD series, and a fine choice for our quarter century episode. Turn it up... and enjoy the mix.

About the CD:
During the late 90's this one CD was the soundtrack to many a hazy Sunday afternoons, playing in the background as you recovered from the night (or morning) before and dreamed of lying on a sun kissed beach in Ibiza rather than a (hopefully) sun kissed bedroom in Sunderland.

The opening Orange Sunshine sets an almost haunting scene with it's long dramatic strings, Alania's 'Flower Garden' also brings a sound which you could only imagine coming from this white isle. A Man Called Adam's 'All my favourite people' is another stand out track amongst so many others. Truly magical stuff. Please enjoy the mix and buy the cd. x

I went back to London and bought some decks, drove my neigbours insane and spent all my money on records. 2 years later I became the resident Dj at the club and remained so for 4 years. Following the sublime opening set on the outdoor terrace from our long standing residents Andy Ward & Neil Metzner, we had one of our longstanding Ibiza residents and good friend, Jason Bye. This was Bysies third appearance in 12 months for UYR and every time he has played, he's delivered a masterclass in how to rock a party. Jason played the 5.30pm-7.00pm slot for this party as he had to fly back for DJ commitments in Ibiza later that night. But it didn't stop him dropping some of his trademark Terry's, jackin' beats and stone cold classic house that got the terrace rockin'

Jason Bye is a true Ibiza DJ, holding a legendary 30-year residency at Cafe Mambo and performing weekly at premier venues like Hï Ibiza and the new superclub UNVRS for the 2025 season, solidifying his role as a pillar of Ibiza’s nightlife. With a career spanning over three decades, Jason is a cornerstone of the island’s vibrant club culture. Hailing from London, he began DJing in the early '90s, spinning at house parties and bars across the city. A defining set at Cafe Mambo in 1994 secured his position as the venue’s first full-time resident DJ, a role he has maintained for 30 years, delivering unforgettable weekly sunset sessions each summer.
Jason’s remarkable career boasts residencies at iconic venues including 4 years at Amnesia, 16 years at We Love Space on Sundays, three years as the main room DJ at Home nightclub in Sydney and London, and, since 2022, a residency at The Wild Corner at Hï Ibiza alongside FISHER and Vintage Culture, a venue celebrated for its cutting-edge electronic music. His international milestones include following Carl Cox at Mobile Home on Bondi Beach to 20,000 revelers on NYE 2000, rocking the Sydney Harbour Bridge with Roger Sanchez and Basement Jaxx for NYE 2002 and 2003, and serving as Groove Armada’s official tour DJ in Australia and New Zealand in 2003.
