Barcelona-based multifaceted artist Raven joins Radio Slave’s Rekids with an incredibly imaginative five-track debut release.

Born in Canada, Raven is a talented nomad who’s been cutting her teeth as a DJ, producer, singer and songwriter whilst living in Los Angeles, Chicago, Berlin, Toronto, and Mexico City. As a performer, she joins the dots between Techno, Acid, Electro and early Rave: a genre-spanning approach she applies to her productions too, making her a difficult artist to pigeonhole. Discovered by Matt Edwards, Raven now joins Rekids - a label responsible for introducing some of electronic music’s most incendiary names to the scene, including the likes of Nina Kraviz and Peggy Gou.

Opening gently with ethereal atmospherics, ‘Flames’ springs into action with galloping percussion, echoing effects, metallic nuances and Raven’s poignant singing. Following on, ‘Saint’ bangs from the word go courtesy of its convoluted rhythm, piercing claps and soaring background synths whilst rave sounds and murky lyrics operate throughout.

Thudding kicks and crystalline pads then pair up beautifully with her serene voice in the lively ‘In2U’, leading into the more downtempo ‘BBGRL’ that employs purring sub-bass, emotional melodies and acid squelches. Tying everything together, ‘Insomnia’ inaugurates with sweet chords and re-pitched vocals before robust drums drive it onwards into the distance.

April the 24th meets brilliant Italian artist - M.I.T.A. to join CODEX Family with his Purpose EP!
Mattia Borriello, better known as M.I.T.A., born in ’90. Started his career at the age of 14. During years improved his skills in studio and decided to spend a couple of hours more working on his first tracks. Still young, he released an EP on Phobiq, neapolitan label born from techno master Sasha Carassi. From that point everything changed: in 2010 he made a remix for “Polychromatic” and, after a while, had the pleasure to have been remixed from worldwide known artists such as Audio Injection, Paul Mac and The Advent & Industryalizer just to name a few. 2014 is an awesome year: “Level Down” EP born in collaboration with techno guru The Advent, appeared on Mixmag magazine as top release of the month (December). Friendship with Cisco became stronger so they both decided to come back in studio together and the result was a 2-tracker ep released on Elevate. Pig&Dan didn’t miss the chance and asked M.I.T.A. to remix their track ‘Modular Baptism’ and after a few months released on Nicole Moudaber’s Mood Records ‘The God Particle’ EP, born in collaboration with Anna V.
2019 started in the best way possible assigning ‘Wide Angle’ EP to Coyu’s legendary label Suara and “Rotation Ep’ on Elevate.
In the end of the year, Mattia worked again with The Advent on a remix made for Audiomatiques’ track ‘Function’ which was released on Unrilis.
Works of M.I.T.A. didn’t pass unnoticed and his tracks were supported by Richie Hawtin, Paco Osuna, Slam, Pan Pot, Umek, Nicole Moudaber, Julian Jeweil, Amelie Lens, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco, Maya Jane Coles, Sam Paganini, Luigi Madonna, Regal, 2000 and One, Luca Agnelli, Andres Campo, Tim Xavier, Dj Emerson, Alan Fitzpatrick, Pig&Dan, Tomy DeClerque, Sian,Gary… and the list goes on :)

M.I.T.A. - Repeat (Original Mix)

UMEK’s label 1605 welcomes a quartet of fresh techno talent on a four track mixed artist EP featuring individual cuts from Heerhorst, Julien Earle, Lazar (IT) and The Reactivitz.

Lazar (IT) has been a feature of imprints such as Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave along with Sam Paganini’s JAM, and he opens this release with his track “Face To Face”. Blending pounding percussion with grinding bass and hints of euphoria, his track is an explosive start that sets the scene for what’s to follow.

The Reactivitz is one of France’s most exciting young talents, and already he has featured full throttle techno tracks on labels that range from Carl Cox’s Intec to Metodi Hristov’s Set About. With thrashing hi-hats and ominous atmosphere, “Parallel Universe” has compelling vocals adding to the building suspense that leads into the tranquillity of the breakdown, before unleashing hell with a bass drop of epic proportion.

Julien Earle is fresh on the scene with a small number of releases under his belt, but already he is making waves with Ramon Tapia signing him to Say What? and Spartaque featuring him on IAMT. “Galactus” has a dystopian feel with its cosmic lead synth combined with sci-fi influenced atmospheric layers over a foundation of hard-hitting percussion perfect for causing maximum impact on the dance floor.

Heerhorst is a regular collaborator with Teenage Mutants, and his solo track on this EP is in the same style he has featured on Monika Kruse’s Terminal M and Sian’s Octopus. Closing the release in style, his track “Passages” blends uplifting melodies with a sadistic tone to create a contrast of dark and light that’s expertly tailored for a club sound system and peak time DJ sets.

Between 2005 and 2012 and after several release on the best techno labels at that time under the name of "Stephane Signore" like Rotation - Primate - Planet rhythm - Monoid and many more.
 
Andrea had the chance to work his studio with the "Drumcode" genious from Brazil "Wehbba" and the french producer who don't needs any introduction "Olivier Giacomotto". From both collaboration, born several ep played all over the world during many years.
 
During almost ten years, most of his release were played by the "big names" and Andrea had the chance to play in more than 30 countries and beeing resident dj in the Hungarian number 1 techno club "M47". In 2012, Andrea took a big decision and gived all of his energy as Hip Hop beat maker for several French and US rappers.

In June 2018, Andrea made his return in the techno game on several labels like Tronic, Alchemy with a remix of the classic "Mauro Picotto-Lizard", Orange recordings and many more. In November 2019, Andrea release the "Muse EP" on Orange recordings, the Steve Mulder imprint. Two months after the release, the track "Omnia" is still number 4 in the Top of the Beatport techno charts and number one in the
Hype techno Charts.

Premiere: The Reactivitz - Retrograde

Raxon lands his first richly-deserved Drumcode EP.

There’s something distinctive about the Egyptian-born artist’s productions that provoke a special response. His debut outing on Drumcode, ‘Dream Space’ soundtracked our favourite takeaway moment from Awakenings Festival in 2019, as Adam Beyer and his three daughters danced along to their mum Ida Engberg’s set, wearing smiles the size of watermelons. More recently, when Beyer played ‘Connection’ during the ‘Drumcode Indoors II’ stream from his Ibiza home, once more, his daughters sprang into dance mode, their fists striking the sky. Raxon’s music just touches you, it’s unavoidable. 

After a pair of contributions to Truesoul and ‘Dream Space’ appearing on A-Sides Vol.8 last year, his maiden Drumcode EP is perfectly timed. ‘Connection’ is catchy intergalactic techno, driven by thick wedges of bass and an irresistible lead hook. ‘Orbit’ initially takes a crunchier and more percussive tone, before rich melodic chords sprout from the darkness to add colour to the mix.
