Technism Mix Series #49 [ Following Light guest mix ]

Budakid makes his return on MNL after last years' successful Back To Live single. This Dutch youngster is turning heads lately and has also signed an EP to the mighty fine Einmusika label recently.

The Silamaire EP contains two songs inspired by Budakid's love life. The enamored producer forgot spending some time in his studio for a while, but ultimately poured every inch of his love-struck heart in a couple of new songs of which 'Don't Lose Your Focus' and 'Silamaire' are the ones on his new EP. To say the Silamaire EP is a personal journey for Budakid, would be an understatement: the cover is graced by a drawing of a purple dragon Budakid drew back when he was four years old. All this should give you some clue to what the final result sounds like: some warm, evocative and melodic deep house music that fits perfect with this time of the year with spring just lurking around the corner. Positive vibes all over!

With SecretMod the surreal undertone which was already sprouting in Shugo thickens. Spiritual sounding chimes, drums and synth-lines are orbiting each other. Growing out of this slurry sound, a strong bass line is giving the track its structure. This is definitely a piece of music which will bring some fresh air into the clubs.

03 Max Dahlhaus - Secret Mod

Joining us with a great remix is our friend from The Hague Gisberto, who is known from the Dutch label Amateur.
Gisperto’s view on Shugo’s world is rather different to Dahlhaus’s: It seems like he found the secret back door to a part of the world which is filled with bouncing colors, weird dancing creatures and a lifted spirit. This remix reminds us of good old Krautrock, and turns the energy of the track into that of a perfect summer night. KODX is really happy to welcome Gisberto aboard.

On the 69th release by Per-vurt Records comes an EP by Fernando Olaya who has been presenting quality progressive house and techno tracks ! Fernando's sound on Per-vurt reflects the label's spectrum, "Clocks" freezes you in the illusion of time having you present to the sound of it ! A melancholic epic deep track with bass arp progressions and spacey synth lines ! "Soneto" tells another story, an endless gaze into the unknown ! The EP closes down with a fresh sound, "Antrax" taking a special road into deviation.
