Ghost

Jason Orpheus (*formerly known as Latheem)
is a natural-born talent. He was singing by age eight and composing songs by sixteen. He was trained to play the guitar and violin. His soulful voice and tone are reminiscent of Alanis Morissette meets Tracey Chapman.

Jason Orpheus’ talents have taken him far and wide,
including performing for the Mayor of Stockholm as well as sharing the stage with headliners such as Nakhane Toure`, Zolani Mahola, Matthew Gold, Craig Lucas, and Jimmy Nevis. His single “Human Being” was selected as the official Pretoria Pride anthem for 2017, reaching a number-one spot.

He has released* various singles since then including ‘Seed of Unease (2018)’, ‘Bones (2019)’ and ‘At First Sight (2021)’. The last two were both accompanied by music videos. In 2022 Jason Orpheus wrote, produced, and performed ‘Beauty on the Fire’ for the Mr. Gay World Contest held in Cape Town, South Africa.

Jason Orpheus is also the recipient of the Contributing Musician of the Year award, awarded to him in March of 2021 at the 2021+ Hero Awards.
