The Improvised Electronics Round Robin serves as a platform for tool builders, artists and engineers to experiment in a performance based environment. Our focus is on custom instruments for the creation of real-time sound and visuals. The Round Robin strives to maintain an open atmosphere dedicated to inventive performability and signal processing systems. 

Performers are to play as solo instrumentalists with either audio, video, or audiovisual performance systems. Performers set up in a circle and play short interlocking sets in a clockwise fashion. After the initial round, each iteration of the Round Robin will feature a different theme that will slightly alter the structure of the previous session. This includes the introduction of a specific set of rule based systems or guest composer’s score. 

This Improvised Electronics Round Robin will feature a game score by Hans Tammen.

Hans Tammen’s "Dark Circuits Light Orchestra" uses Earle Brown’s open form composition idea as a starting point to create a large multi-movement piece, performed by an ensemble of contemporary electronic instrument practices and visuals. Sound and visuals are treated as independent instruments, morphing from one entity to another, are juxtaposed, or put against each other in a crazed collision course of the eye & ear. AIDS3000 (Remix & Remaster)

In 2014-2015 I was fortunate enough to work as a merch manager and production assistant for the Dillinger Escape Plan.  On tour, Greg would frequently miss soundcheck, so being a vocalist myself, it became my daily role to fill in for Greg during soundchecks.   This is a recording of me at one of those soundchecks in Boston 2015. It was an honor for me to be a part of their team and an extreme high point in my life to be able to get on stage and actually sing with them on a daily basis.

PrKr & Lucas Brode Improv Excerpt

A twenty minute improv piece I did before work one morning.  Starts off with a long vocal drone which dissolves into rumbling delays of death around the 8 minute mark.  At about 10:00 there is a slight wash of metallic synths that both rise and fall in pitch with some muffled vocals underneath.  By 11:30 major vocal manipulation is starting to occur.  This continues first as just cacophonous voicings trying to find a space, but then at as the keyboard comes in at 13 min mark, the  the piece coalesces into something much more coheasive and melodic.
