This song was inspired by the word fathom from the song writing group I’m in called 11:59. It took me a while to think about what the word meant to me and couldn’t get the Little Mermaids “Fathoms Below” out of my head & tried writing about mermaids. Eventually I scrapped that idea & decided to find a victim that’s death involved water & immediately thought of Natalie Wood.

This is the correctly edited version of an assignment that I gave to my IGST students.  

Their assignment: Edit the stuttering out of the audio track, using Reaper to do it.  The digital artifacts that were heard in the original track were accidentally made, but purposefully placed.  Here, the artifacts have been removed.  This was designed to be a backing soundtrack to their Assignment #1 sounscape.
