I think there are a LOT of men and women out there who have felt stuck, trapped, empty and alone; even while being right next to someone else.  Someone who for whatever reason can't or won't give you what you need to feel alive.  If they were cheaters or liars, then maybe leaving would be easy. But what if it's someone whose just "broken" and you realize you can't "fix" them, no matter how hard you've tried?  What if that someone doesn't even comprehend what it means to be close, to be emotionally intimate with you without saying or doing something to sabotage things? And when do you call it quits and escape? A year? 5 years?
