For the last fifteen years, Jason has been constantly recording and performing. Based outside of Philadelphia , he has been part of a collective of bands and musicians from all walks of music. His career has been filled with extraordinary experiences such as performing with Billy Martin, Cyro Baptista, Bobby McFerrin, touring and recording with reggae pop singer Matisyahu and jazz artist Melody Gardot, and filling in for the pioneering bassist Reed Mathis with the Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey and the Benevento Russo Duo.

Between 2000 and the present day, Jason has been sideman or co-leader on over 25 records. You can hear many samples of his discography here on Soundcloud or on his website at jasonfraticelli.com.

In 2013 Jason received a Pew project grant in order to record one of his latest works entitled the Mothers’ Suite. This was soon after recorded with 10 piece electronic jazz group the Fresh Cut Orchestra which he co-leads with Josh Lawrence and Anwar Marshall. Fresh Cut Orchestra has gone onto perform at prestigious venues such as Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, has been commissioned by renowned Arts Centers such The Painted Bride of Philadelphia and the Kimmel Center of Performing Arts, while continuing to put out a steady body of work of music through  eclectic and genre bending tastemaker Ropeadope Records. Fresh Cut Orchestra is about to release it’s sophomore record in August of 2016 as well as their third record ‘Life Mosaic’ in early of 2017. 

The Jason Fraticelli Band is Jason’s art rock/Zappa-esque outlet for performing and composing. He is about to release this group’s debut full length record entitled ‘The Dream Diaries’ in 2016 and it will also be released on Ropeadope Records. In the JFB Jason explores his songwriting styles with heavy influences from the classic and progressive rock of the past while performing on a variety of instruments such as guitar, puerto rican cuatro, upright bass, and vocals.
