NIHIL 2: Hubris EP is Angolan artist Nazar’s tongue-in-cheek ode to the reigning kleptocracy—a tribute to the government that cracks down murderously on dissent, adorning its public spaces with pro-government propaganda. 

It is a voice of protest from a diplomat’s son born abroad, whose romanticized perspective of a New Angola was shattered when he returned to live in his native land and witnessed first-hand the corruption, nepotism and manipulation that pervades the country's leadership. 

It is a documentary take on the consciousness of the Angolan people, a critique of the government that is beyond reproach for its massacre of civilians on Mount Sumi on April 16, 2015. 

NIHIL 2 is a referendum on the hubris of a ruling class that continues to illegitimately perpetuate its power in a legacy that stretches back 40 years.

New species of dance music grooves is born in the forest of concrete and data. Following the single “Sheng” on Do Hits Vol.1, putting together various sound elements, fusing traditional and dance music in the oriental context, Jason Hou returns with his album Sheng, as a milestone for his musical adventure from 2013 to 2015.

“Qi” is the repeated breath of the universe; “Shrine” records the oldest temple of Beijing; “Mantra” chants the mysterious sacred words. Reconstructing “Peking” of Beijing Melodic Metal band Shuang Dong Qian Ye, “Peking 2045” depicts a cyber-punk futuristic city of Beijing. A longer version of “Sheng” captures a thunder-rumbling, stormy evening in the forest. “Martial” represents Chinese philosophy in the future electrified war. “Havoc” takes in Chinese opera, putting on a show of the Monkey King rioting in the Heaven. “Stardust” tells the story of the last human beings entering the unknown space after the apocalypse.

Lamb Kebab is best known for their visceral vocal and rap performances. Their productions employ chaotic breakbeat patterns, elements of Bass and Booty with a twist of sadism through a playful arrangement of sample-based pattern making.  drawing inspiration from Giallo horror soundtracks and Dolly Parton, Lamb employs their lyrics as an exploration of amoral landscapes with topics ranging from abuse to teddy bears and sex work. Although relatively new to producing Lamb has cut out a niche for herself through collaborations with XVII, Imaabs, Reelle, Leo Luchini and AC with corresponding releases.
